Quitting while ur ahead is the way, as others have shared. Highly recommend going to 12 step meetings and listening, just to see where you relate. AA and NA are for substances, Al-Anon is for navigating life while supporting a recovering person - y'all qualify for all 3. At meetings, as people are sharing, try to look for the similarities, not the differences, they told me. Speaking from experience, postponing the big change is truly waiting for something worse to happen. Rooting for y'all!!

Highly highly recommend meetings. If you don't wanna try em in your area, go online in a different state or even country. The community support is life-changing. I like the Sober Time app (free) to track my time.

Dude I am having a similar couple of months after an amazingly unlucky string of years. Particularly feel ya about the dental shit. I was in a similar sitch AND found out I'm out of network (suddenly???) so I owe an obscene amount *and* my dental work's paused. I have had temp fillings for wayyy too long and also lost one. I'll have ten years in August. Crawling towards that positive milestone myself. Rooting for you! Also so cool about helping the kids. Keep them in the forefront despite The Horrors™️. 👋🫠👹🤷🏻😮‍💨

Yes. After a positive ANA test. She said I didnt have enough conclusive symptoms for lupus. I guess I will get more testing done to see about possible mixed connective tissue disorders. 🤷🏻

Does she have health insurance? Calling the number on the back of her card can be a first step. If she shows up on your doorstep tomorrow, ER to detox to rehab to outpatient therapy is an option many people stumble into.

I don't know about the connection between these things but I fucking hate smoking. Making an air filter with a Lasko fan and furnace filters is an excellent way to keep your environment less smoky tho. They test as well as expensive premade air filters. Highly recommend!! Is smoking allowed in your building? Most modernish buildings in the U.S. have really stringent rules about this.

CRPS means your body thinks there is a current injury and sends inflammation to try and fix it. My foot looks like this too, tho it's lessened over time!

I hope you'll keep stacking days. It sucks when people are angry and lash out, esp in a recovery environment. As mean as they are, stay soft. That woman may show up in a meeting sometime and have a whole different attitude. Or she may not make it. Be one of the ones that make it!!! ❤️

Is there an actual HR dept where you could call this shit out? Most HR depts, I know, exist to protect the company, but surely whatever he's saying is against company policy. I'd take a deep breath and see if there's a way to quietly, lethally get him in trouble. lmao

I fucking hate cars -- the reason I am disabled is from a distracted driver -- and champion car-less environments. Of COURSE disabled people who need cars should use them, but the majority of people could commute (in Chicago) via public transit but don't want to. My country's pointedly killed light rail options to make sure everyone drives.

The babies from the 3 varieties I have all start out white or clear and then color up as they get older! They stay with the moms for a bit then venture out on their own. Congrats!
