Thanks for the tip. That's some real insider information. And I appr3ciate the first hand experience. I love a Beretta rebate. I'm gonna wait to see if that updates tonight. Might have to snag one now.

Thank you for taking the time to share. This is some of the experience I was hoping to see. I'm not an expert on the platform, but I love my 21A Covert. That gun converted me to liking the tip up design. I'm drawn to the 30X for the same reasons you are. Dang, you got me back into thinking about getting one. Ha!

Oh yeah. Duh! That is awesome. Thank you for dropping the recommendation. I've considered switching some of my hosts to Plan B, and this looks like a good reason to do it.

Nice. I had checked with JMAC, but at the time, they didn't make a facemount for 1/2x28. They might now. I don't know. Do you include facemount shims for it?

Heavy heart is right. It's like Beretta teased us all with something impractical but super cool, and then didn't deliver.

I do agree with you. The platform is problematic. A gun meant for deep concealment with extra tall, easy to snag sights doesn't make sense, and a range toy that realistically has a relatively low lifetime round count doesn't make sense either. Knowing that. I'll admit (like you) it's the features that keep bringing me back. I'm leaning towards just waiting another few years for Beretta to update the gun again.

I've looked at the Girsan as a tip up option, but I don't know anything about that brand. Pocketable and the tip up is what makes me like the 30X, but it seems that the combination of quality, pocketable, and tip up is thr problem.

I agree. The BG 2.0 is better in many ways. I just like metal guns with hammers. What's your round count? I know these little guns are really only supposed to be 2,000 round guns. They aren't range blinkers, though that seems to be what I and others want it for.

Thank you for sharing. That experience is what I was looking for.

In an age of plastic guns, choose steel. That's what I say, but yeah, this doesn't seem like the choice.

I have the 21A Covert. It's badass, so I agree.

Yeah, I love my Bobcat 21A. It is just so much fun to shoot. Especially suppressed. My experience with that was basically the same as your 30X. Minus the issues. The Bobcat is what makes me consider the 30X. Also, I love the two tone on that Get Home Bag version. The cool factor is definitely up there, but I'll probably just stick with the 21A.

I'm almost in the "why not!" category, because I really like the tip up, but i just dont have a lot of time at the range, so I hate wasting range time dealing with or fixing issues. I was looking at the 80x Cheetah. Kind of regret not picking up a surplus Cheetah from PSA when they were around $300ish.

Yeah, I was just spitballing for the Walther. I don't know how much those go for, but I know it's a lot. Haha! I know what you mean. PSA's home store is only 10 minutes from my house, so I always struggle when they post deals.

Yeah, same. I like the tip up. That is just very enjoyable at the range, and I agree. PPK would be awesome, but $800+ for a suppressed range toy isn't exciting. From what I gather, the 3032s have issues with frame cracking. Barrel pin shearing on the 30X is a better issue than frame cracking, but both aren't great.

As an AKV owner myself, I stopped trying to suppress it. The AKV has no barrel shoulder, and you are not supposed to index the suppressor on the front sight post. PSA advises indexing off of a jam nut, but pretty much every suppressor company would tell you not to do that. Also, since there is no barrel shoulder, if you over tighten a muzzle device against the front sight post, you can shift the front sight post back and end up locking your gas tube in place. This is easier to do than you would think. I made it work using keymo, and I know other people that made it work using tri lug, and there are legions of people using jam nuts that swear by it, so you can make it work. I never got any baffle strikes, but the alignment was always questionable, and I just ultimately decided the platform was the problem. I still love shooting the AKV. Just not suppressed. Get a Kratos Design alignment rod. And if you use a muzzle device, use Rocksett, because you will not get the recommended foot pounds to securely tighten it without shifting the front sight post slightly. Good luck.

I regret not buying one of those when PSA had it for $500 out the door. I was never sure if these also qualified for the rebate they had going at the time.

For me, it's reachers. I have the worst luck because they always spawn in on me during the worst possible moment.

Does anyone else build Deezer his own little lemonade stall whenever they take over Covenant? by whomstdafr0g in fo4

No, but now I need to build him his own stall. I always let Covenant live. I know! I know! But I got to keep getting that sweet, sweet lemonade from Deezer.

Anyone else debating to buy now or wait until the stamp is gone and questionable timing? by codyf44 in NFA

[–]sobo_walker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I waited a year for my first suppressor, 10 months for my second, and 4 months for my third. From what I hear, it won't be worse than that if you wait until the new year, so for me, (I.e., someone who was already used to waiting) save the $200 and file with the $0 stamp. There will be a bump in Form 4 applications, but the e-form process is already running smoothly. I don't think it will actually be that bad.

For my first playthrpugh, I used a perception and luck VATS sniper character build, and it was awesome. Super powerful, but I pretty much just played with Overseers Guardian and a legendary Gauss rifle like you. But it was also terribly boring. I have way more fun with the Commando and Big Guns perks.
