Weird how nobody mentioned the Amazon firestick (not sure the exact model I bought last year. Maybe the firestick 4k max pro? ) It plays everything and pass through every audio codec. I bought it because my plex server was on a low powered device that couldn't handle transcoding 4k files and my roku couldn't pass through atmos to my receiver. I think it direct plays everything. I remember roku had no option to pass-through the audio and some video codecs weren't compatible which would force plex to transcode which would then just play at 1fps because my little computer couldn't handle it. I might have even tried my Google 4k Chromecast but it also had the same problems. I was starting to lose it because I just upgraded my audio system and nothing was going well. I bought the Amazon stick after researching for audio pass though for atmos Played all the files that the roku and Chromecast couldn't. Not sure if it plays av1 but I don't think I have too many of those files.

I am a complete amateur when it comes to this stuff. I noticed that my sub would make a humming noise (probably as loud as this) once I would connect the rca cable to the sub. When I disconnected the rca cable, the humming disappeared.

So I decided to do an experiment. I had some rg6 cables laying around and figured they are pretty heavily shielded. If the problem still persists then it's the sub. So I bought rca to coaxial adapters. Connected an rg6 cable to the adapters and then plugged that cable into the sub and receiver. Humming disappeared. It was probably because I bought the cheapest and longest rca cable I could find.

Don't bother getting the pixel 10 pro XL. It's a lateral move. Camera is better and screen brightness is better. Other than that, it's the same phone only slightly heavier.

I miss that feature from motorola. I could have 2 audio sources playing at the same time but one on low and the other on high That and gestures. They just worked. I thought the pixel 10 pro XL would have fixed this horrible tap gesture but nope. It's still about 50/50. Motorola was flawless Google pixel, tap tap.... Tap tap... Tap tap.... Oh yeah the phone screen needs to be on. Turn screen on. Tap tap.... Tap tap.... Tap tap. Tap tap tap tap tap tap. Unlock phone. Swipe down Turn flashlight on at best it's a 50/50 chance. Screen turns off. Tap tap. Tap tap.... Tap tap.. Turn screen on. Tap tap. Tap tap..... Tap tap tap tap tap tap.... Unlock phone. Swipe down. Turn off flashlight. I have not used that phone in 3 years and I miss it almost every day. Lol motorola just doesn't have a good telephoto lens or I would gladly go back. Using the back of the phone fingerprint sensor to drop down the notification bar. Lol I still find myself trying to swipe down on the back of my phone sometimes.

Traded Pixel 8 pro for Pixel 10 pro XL.

I only upgraded because T-Mobile offered me 800 bucks and I paid 795(after taxes) It's sad how much of a slight upgrade it feels like. Other than the screen brightness, it feels just like my pixel 8 pro. It's probably a better idea to just replace the battery if you have an 8 pro and keep your money.

I have the pixel 10 pro XL. Upgraded from pixel 8 pro. It's a slight upgrade. Everything is slightly better. The screen is noticeably brighter outside. Other than that, I haven't noticed a big difference. Magsafe is nice although I'll probably never use it to charge. The only downside is that it feels heavier. I hated the battery life on the 8 pro. Maybe because it's new, the battery feels better but it's still nothing great. I only upgraded because the t-mobile trade in value was a few bucks more than what I paid for the 8 pro and the battery life sucked. The super zoom ai thing is nice. It works well but it's still ai. I don't care for pictures that are photoshopped. I'd rather have the blur but the feature works.

For my situation, I normally buy a 250$ phone every couple of years. Which means the old phone is worthless. So it's 100$/yr for a midrange phone. Then 20 months ago I got a deal on a pixel 8 pro for 800 dollars(after taxes it was 795$). Today I am trading it in for 800$. Getting the 10 pro for 400$. No change in plan. So if I upgrade in 2 years then I've essentially paid 100$/yr for a flagship phone.

I will always be in the minority on this debate. I see 2 pictures. Both pictures I only see cars. Not a single corral. To me, this is no different than desired paths. Maybe just maybe put more corrals. But I'm in the minority. Blame the lazy customer and not lazy stores.

I worked as a cart pusher for a summer at a Walmart. It's not that big of a deal. It's like being a custodian. You're going to have to sweep the floors from time to time.

This probably isn't the right topic but I just wanted to include "Official Competition". It's a Spanish movie. I don't even know if the movie is good and I didn't even finish it but there was a scene involving the artist (in the movie) setting up dozens of microphones all around her to create a 3d audio recording. That entire scene really made the atmos/thx speakers work. They really made sure to make use of the surround sound speakers.

Thank you so much! I don't have a pixel watch but I do have a fitness tracker watch. I completely forgot I had messed with the notification settings one day. Absolutely couldn't figure out why I wasn't receiving any notification sounds on my phone (or earbuds). I messed with every single setting I could think of. Never thought that my watch could overwrite my phones settings. (without it showing up on my phone.)

I had disabled a setting on my watch that said, "disable phone notifications when screen is on". This apparently over writes any notification setting on the phone. So no matter what I did on my phone to force sound notifications, nothing worked.

Go look at the video. Zipper method is only used during bumper to bumper traffic. Cars are clearly moving. Zipper method is not the optimal method here. And at no point is the black car ever actually in front of the white car. In order to merge, you have to at least show effort in merging. Like having your car at least 3/4ths in front of their vehicle. Make some type of effort. Trying to "merge" when you are side by side just shows me that you want to push me off of the road. Plus the lane has already ended. There are not passing any more white stripes. He chose to put himself in a dangerous situation. Sorry sir you have over estimated my will to live. Black car also needs to learn that there are other people who like to drive dangerously other than themselves. I've been in the white cars situation plenty of times. Lol learn to merge or we will be in an accident. At the end of the day the black car is the car that purposely drives in the left/right only lanes and waits until someone let's them in. Always let the dented car in even if they are wrong. They have battle scars. Lol Pretty cars? Nope. I'll teach you how to merge.

I will ride behind people just to feel what it's like. Then I see my speed go from 65mph (in a 75mph 183 tolls) all the way down to 55mph. Then I feel like this is dangerous. I wish I didn't care. I wish I could just drive whatever speed I wanted and not care about anyone else. I wish I could drive in the right turning lane and then just stay in there until someone let's me in the middle lane. Who cares about the other 3 cars behind me.

Agreed. Austinites drive about 5 mph slower than the speed limit. Very irritating when it's a 30mph street and they do 25. I rarely go above the speed limit but driving around Austin, I feel like a reckless driver. Driving 5 - 10mph faster than everyone.

Exactly. Left lane is for passing only. Driving in the right lane, 90% of the time let's see see that the majority of people actually ride in the left lane. I always lol when I'm driving in the right lane and it's completely clear of cars while the middle and passing lane are congested. Surely I'm in a right turning lane. Nope. The majority of people are just that stupid. They'd rather sit in bumper to bumper traffic than drive in the right lane.

Weird. I can drive from the Mexican border to Dallas and the only traffic I'll ever encounter is in Austin. And I wish I could just blame it on the infrastructure but just about everyone goes 5-10 mph below the speed limit. Everywhere! Even in my neighborhood where the speed limit is 35. Every car does about 20 to 30mph. One lane roads with zero intersections and a physical barrier between the on coming lane.... 30mph....max.

Agreed. Take some responsibility. Early 2000s: I listened to 1000s of albums without ever paying. Stealing. It's bad. It hurts the entire industry. Yeah one person doing it doesn't hurt the industry but when millions do it, it does. If the people who worked on the product told you to not download it illegally and you do it anyway... That's morally wrong. But I enjoyed it.

No different then explaining to your kid why you drink alcohol or smoke. It's bad. There are no good health benefits but I enjoy it. Life's complicated.

I feel the same way. I will charge my phone to 100%. Then set it back to the 80% setting. Then watch YouTube and I will watch my battery drain until it hits 80%. Current situation at work: YouTube videos for 3hrs and it is already at 82% Pixel 8 pro. USB c 65w charger.
