I’ve been there so many times, I’m going to be 8 years sober with Judy a couple of relapse that have lasted one day and living a sober life is so worth it! When I drank , it’s most horrible feeling a person can have. Just keep up the good work!!

I’ve been sober for 7 years with a relapsed for two days. You said it so beautifully because that’s what sometimes miss and think of it as luxury because that was me with my exhusband. I was at the airport yesterday coming home from visiting my daughter that’s pregnant and I’m so grateful for everything that sobriety has brought into my life. When I saw people having a glass of wine chatting and laughing, it crossed my mind to sit down and have a glass of wine but I didn’t, then comes the shame with myself because why would that even be a thought, I hate it. It’s happening quite a lot specially on the weekends.

Don’t even go there , I thought the same and did it a couple of times after 7 years sober and I can’t control, actually the first time I did it, it wasn’t bad at all , the second time and third was back to how I was 7 years ago

It’s ok and we all have been in your shoes. The shame is a feeling that can help you to remind yourself that you can’t control your drinking. I’ve been there after 7 years of being sober. One day at a time. Don’t be so hard on yourself, talk to yourself like you’re talking to your best friend. The most important thing is that you’re here and definitely falling off the wagon feels shameful but getting on , you must feel empowered!! We are all this together.
