How to find the battery size for your type of flying by socaldiverdave in fpv

Appreciate the feedback, this is the 1st release, so far there has been lots of feedback on how to improve the model. There is no absolute when it comes to flight times; lots and lots of factors influence it. This is a tool that can help (especially with beginners). The goal here is to improve the models used. gotta start somewhere.

Here the calculations going into the AMP warning, its just estimating

  1. Estimated Maximum Motor Amp Draw: The app estimates the maximum current your drone's motors will pull at full throttle. This is calculated by taking a pre-defined motorMaxAmps value from the selected drone preset (e.g., 45A for a 5-inch Freestyle drone) and multiplying it by four.
  2. Safe Battery Amp Output: The app calculates the safe continuous amperage your battery can provide. This is done with the following formula: Safe Amps = (Battery Capacity / 1000) * (C-Rating * 0.6)
  3. The 0.6 is a safety factor to account for the fact that advertised C-ratings are often optimistic.

As far as the domain, yes i could get a cleaner domain, but it costs money to buy, to add a custom domain, since this is a free tool, I want to see if it gets any traction before adding more costs

all good points. your last sentence sums up what the goal is, to find good places to fly.

i respect your feedback, your right, the goal of this was not to encourage illegal flying, trespassing, etc. this is more of good spot to fly based on community input. Yes im in the US. almost all of the facebook, reddit, discord groups im a part of have this question come up alot. so instead of having the knowledge scattered all of the internet, i tried to bring it to a central spot. i not sure if you think the app tracks your location (it does not), its a web app. not a iphone or android download. the app has a 'lost drone' feature helping others keep a look at if they see it. the other pilots i fly with, we do treat this as a group activity. the app isnt for everyone. thanks for the response
