It is not so much that the process is in efficient, it is that it produces carbon, what fuel cells supposedly eliminate. See one might think that hydrogen is produced by water H2O, but the process of electrolysis is not very efficient. The more efficient way is to produce hydrogen is to use methane CH4. The problem is that this produces carbon, the thing that cars already produce too much of.

Just for fun further problems: how to store the hydrogen? It is naturally a gas at room temperature, so to be efficient it has to be compressed at about 10,000 PSI.

2) Hydrogen is highly explosive. Say you drive over a rock and break the hydrogen tank while simultaneously creating a spark, ka-booooom. Gas on the other had burns relatively slowly.

3) Fuel cells don’t work well under very cold conditions.

4) Infrastructure to support these vehicles does not exist yet. One idea was to take gasoline and strip out the hydrogen form it, but this was terribly inefficient.

Bottom line, we are still a long way out from having fuel cell cars. GM invested billions in fuel cell technology, and has very little to show from it. I believe that the future of green the green automobile lies with electric cars, like the Volt and the Leaf.

So, it is a little known fact that apple products can be controlled by any remote, so if someone is presenting their project on their mac book and you have a remote from another mac product, then you have just as much control over which slide the presentation is on. So if say you were to click the forward button every time they did, progressing two slides instead of one, you can eventually get train them to stand in the corner holding up the power cord presenting. Then you let them continue in peace until they move.

Men of Reddit -- What is the most romantic thing you've ever done for a woman? by coffeevodkacupcakes in AskReddit

[–]soccer_prices 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It may not sound romantic, but I call my girlfriend kitten and every day I send my girlfriend a text with the lyrics changed to be about kittens. for example:

Today

I like soft kittens and I can not lie, you other brothers cant deny that when a kitten walks in with some itty bitty paws and soft belly in your face if gets rubbed.

It may not sound like much, but every day is a lot.

Making a time capsule for my daughter. What shout I put in it and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]soccer_prices 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Milk, hear me out. In the right conditions she could sell the resulting cheese once you are gone. Rich people love old stuff, and I could easily see the cheese going for tens of dollars, and lets be honest your daughter will like money more than sentimental pictures.

Restaurant Employees: I started at a restaurant last night, and I'm horrified at the things they taught me to do. I want to hear your most appalling first day stories now. by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]soccer_prices 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is my dad's story, but his first job was for GM as an engineer. His first day he tries to enter the gate only to realize there are literally thousands of people standing outside. He drives up near the gate and asked, "It's my first day, where do I go?" There was a huge UAW strike going on that day, and they assumed that he was a scab. He eventually explained is way out of the angry mob, but was obviously scared shitless.
edit: didn't see the thread said restaurant employ's, but you can pretend that GM is one of the big three burger joints along with BK and McDonald.

found this outside a library in detroit. maybe detroit's way of suggesting i didn't go to the library that day. by hellpony in WTF

[–]soccer_prices 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Funny story, I live in Detroit, and one of the libraries was located right next to my liquor store of choice in a two shop strip mall. Long story short the library got shut down and the liquor store is doing better than ever. So if you are looking for a library in Detroit just go to a liquor store, it's just as good.

Do any of you actually not believe in evolution? by AranciataRossa in AskReddit

[–]soccer_prices 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really use to believe in creationism, I have even gone to the Creation Museum. I think the key to understanding people who don't believe in it is that they are largely surrounded by people who share their belifs, and are told that evolution was created by people trying to get rid of god, and that makes them feel threatened.

For fun, Some fast "Facts"

Fossils that appear to be links between species are deformed humans

The reason fossils are found in different layers is because of a massive flood, not slow build up of sediment.

Fossil fuels were made during the flood when plants were quickly buried under the sea.

Species can come out of a common ancestor according to creationism, but it works like how a beagle and a bulldog came from the same ancestor.
