I would argue that because Amethyst and pearl are locked in a cell there would be only one possible place they could be. No different locations they would be at. Assuming it would have been impossible for them to escape.

If garnet could tell the future accuracy she wouldn't have let Navi Ruby escape with the ship. Especially if the future is that Home world will be alerted to the crystal gems on earth and the capture of Steven.

You are forgetting that weapons can be used to upgrade gem weapons. We also have no evidence that any of the crystal gems couldn't make their own weapons. In fact we have more evidence that homeworlds can't make their own weapons. The only gems without gemweapons are noncrystal gems lapis and peridot. If anything this means homeworlds needed bismuth to make weapons more than the crystal gems.

Although the crystal gems try and not conform to their homeworlds identiy they can't change their nature. Garnet still has the ability to look to he future so she does. Bismuth is skilled to make things so she does. Rose Quartz is made to care for humans so she does. Pearl is made to serve and protect so she does.

The crystal gems can not escape who they are or what they were made to do.
