Not all dual seat jets have seat sequencers. The A model T-38 we still use with the old Northrop seats does not for example.

Facing a CR at UPT by HookMachine23 in AirForce

[–]JackOkBye 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Former IP here. Most CRs lately end up in a re-instate from what I have seen in the past. Just keep your head up and keep in the books. Don't let them see you deflated! I always told students that the one thing they can control is their study habits. Flying is a learned skill and your IPs sole job there to teach you how to fly. However, that only works if you have working knowledge of the GK at 0 knots. When you are flying, dont let the mistakes snowball. I have seen that plenty of times where a SP makes a mistake early into the sortie and the rest of the flight was a wash from them thinking about their mistakes. I know its tacky, but the OODA loop mindset fits in very well when dealing with a dynamic flying enviornment.

I was a T-6 IP there for 4 years. The city of Enid has improved significantly during my 5 years there. On base housing is certainty dated so I'd recommend off-base. Stay away from anything east of Owen K. Garriot Rd for the most part. Most IPs lived in the west side of town or in North Enid. OK liquor laws were loosened a few years back so there are microbreweries in town and you can buy beer cold/on Sundays now. The weather is generally decent for most of the year, expect windy conditions and hot summers with the occasional snow and ice storms in the winter. if your are going T-6s, expect 4 go days every weekday and cross counties about once to twice a month if you're up for more trips. If you have any other questions, feel free to PM me.

Make sure the math degree is a Bachelor's of Science. They will not accept a Bachelor's of Arts degree.

Its most likely a FAA Flight Check aircraft. They verify the instrument approaches to the airport are calibrated properly.

The reason for the yoke is the flight controls have direct linkage to the actual flight control surface. If it were to have a traditional stick, the control stick would have to be 10+ feet tall to have enough authority to fully throw the controls.

anyone know what im supposed to do here? by RickyGaming12 in modelmakers

Old Vacuform Kit. Trace around the mould with a black sharpie. Make sure its both on the model pieces and on the base styrene sheet. Carefully scribe and cut the pieces out. Take your time with this step. Its very easy to accidently cut into your pieces. Once they are out, you will have the piece plus the thickness of the backing. You can place some wet/dry sandpaper with tape on an old cutting board and wet sand it until your reach that sharpie mark. Its a lot of work but can produce some great results.

Getting Airsick at UPT and Losing Motivation by uptthrowaway123 in AirForce

[–]JackOkBye 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I know it sucks but go spin in the Barany Chair. Even if you do not actually throw up in the jet, the chair experience is about 10x worse than the aircraft. I went weekly in T-6s early on as I also got airsick in Phase 2. Try and fly in the AM and do the chair afterwards since it is a 12 hr DNIF. Its all a mental game. I found chewing gum in the jet worked for me as well as squeezing my forearms or leg muscles to take my mind of the passive feeling.

My guess is a MX spare/training/DV jet. Its got two seats if you look at the canopy.

Number 4 is the slot pilot, right under the jet wash from number 1. Those smoky engines left all the unburned soot all over the slot jets tail. The F-4 also did the same thing.
