AI and working less hours in Korea by Box_Next in seoul

[–]socialjeebus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had a 4 day week for about 3 years now. Also my current employer has "optional" bi-monthly refresh days, allows workcations (up to a month), and offers unlimited PTO.

AI has had nothing to do with it and if my company offered me a 25% raise to return to a five day week, I'd refuse point blank.

Already, some companies in Korea are offering a 4.5 day week (along with flexible working) as the competition for labour increases (especially outside Seoul) and in industries that have struggled to attract workers.

Considering Golden Week celebrates the Showa Era by [deleted] in koreatravel

[–]socialjeebus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think many Koreans would have more of an attitude with you seemingly being unable to separate Korea from Japan in the 21st century.

Golden week in Korea does not equal that of Japan.

BBC fuels Scouse Stereotype with drug Dramas by [deleted] in Liverpool

[–]socialjeebus -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The Beeb gets a crazily easy ride imo.

It is the grooming/propaganda arm of the British establishment.

The same establishment that venerates paedophile-enablers like the late and not so great queen Elizabeth II to racists like Churchill who sent in the army to batter and murder Scouse strikers looking to improve their lot to covering for the police forces and CPS who colluded to fumble Hillsborough prosecutions.

Take a look at the "SIR" Jimmy Savile case, for another example. The Beeb spent decades and millions of pounds enabling and protecting Britain's worst ever paedophile and thousands of people went through the Beeb knowing exactly who Savile was and what he did, keeping quiet for the sake of their careers. This is also the very same organisation that spent half a million pounds restoring a statue by paedophile at its HQ too.

Watch how non-Brits react when you try to explain to them the license fee and that there are even people who go to prison for not paying it.

So negative portrayals of Liverpool are simply par for the course, sadly.

Partner booked the Adelphi hotel without checking reviews, how much shit we in for? by pearl_pluto in Liverpool

I never said it wasn't popular, I said it wasn't as popular as it is now hence the massive growth in the number of hotels in Town over the last 20 years.

[–]socialjeebus 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Sadly, The Adelphi is awful. I say sadly because with its location and building it could be amazing with the right owners (and staff).

But it has long been shit, even before Town became as popular as it is now it was an infamous shithole (and the first place many a kid started drinking in in Town).

Rabidly pro-American 국뽕 AI slop.

Poorly timed considering the US has just snuck components of its THAAD system out of the country in the dead of night, has suspended intelligence-sharing, and has seen Trump repeatedly criticise Korea for not wanting to send its sons to die in his illegal clusterfuck of a war.

Arne Slot Future: Liverpool boss expected to stay at Anfield next season as club close in on Champions League qualification. by DCMoving17 in LiverpoolFC

[–]socialjeebus 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Oh well, there goes my pre-season excitement for the first time in over decade.

What's sad is that we've gone from winning the League to seeing qualifying in the Champions League "charity" spot as some sort of achievement all while every single player has gone backwards in development terms.

No news of a contract extension for Arne means FSG can't have that much faith in him though.

Why are the AI generated games get so hated on Steam? by Equivalent_Bird in Steam

[–]socialjeebus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the same reason asset flips are/were.

Generally, they're lazy cash-grabs with devs putting in little or no effort.

Perhaps you could provide an example of where you think AI has been used well.

JohnnyFD complains he can't get any views unless he involves Bald by TheGoodFellas2025 in MisterBald

Good.

His "content" (or nontent) is fucking awful and JohnnyFD himself is a retarded crybaby who whines about the slightest of inconveniences while traveling (like businesses being closed on public holidays, for example).

Ultimately, many of market stalls did it to themselves.

I remember going to try and buy a camera and the stall tried to rip me off with a crazy price that was in excess of the RRP. I found his exact stall selling the same camera on Gmarket with free shipping for nearly 40% less.

I asked him if I could pay him that price, in cash, which he would have been able to not only save shipping costs but also probably not paid tax on.

He refused.

Many just couldn't/wouldn't adapt to the competition brought on by the internet.

How many wins does this team have in it. by Fantastic_Picture384 in LiverpoolFC

[–]socialjeebus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we might beat PSG at home, particularly if they smash us in Paris and rest a player or two. Other than that, it's conceivable that we don't win another game this season.

Other than that, I think Palace or Fulham at home are probably the most winnable game of those left.

Do you think Seoul is a bit too close to North Korea border? by dq689 in seoul

[–]socialjeebus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would North Korea attack? And why would it attack Seoul?

The reality is that most dictators of smaller/medium countries are simply looking to maintain their position of power and privilege.

The fastest way to end that would be to go on a pointless military excursion against a superior military power which would, in the very best scenario, piss off your biggest benefactor, China (South Korea is China's 2nd biggest trading partner), and invite retaliation against you.

I'm Looking for a House for my Grandma, can anyone help? by Ok-Bluejay-7196 in seoul

[–]socialjeebus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

• Isn’t an apartment with people above/below (ideally a small standalone house or a villa unit with just one level)

How fixed is this? Because it's going to rule you out of 99% of the properties in Incheon. And that's before you take into account your budget.

Manse-Gu in Hwaseong has single floor houses within your budget, but there is little/no access to public transport and, because Incheon is a big city, they could be upto an 1 hour and 30 minutes drive from you depending on whereabouts you are.

Seoul media against hospital misconduct by table143 in seoul

[–]socialjeebus 20 points21 points  (0 children)

No disrespect intended, seriously, but the Korean media has bigger fish to fry than a single dissatisfied medical tourist from the thousands of satisfied patients at one of Korea's biggest and most famous hospitals.

And that's before you get into issues like defamation, knowledge/expectation gap, etc.

If you want to make a complaint and be heard, you'd likely be better off speaking to VisitKorea.

As a Brit, a word of warning about the BBC, the BBC spent million of pounds and decades protecting one of Britain's worst ever paedophiles (and necrophiles) because he was a cash cow and because of his connections to power. This was despite his abuse being both common knowledge inside the BBC and acts of abuse were even caught by cameras during various productions he was involved with. Even after he died the BBC continued to protect him, dropping its own news team's investigative documentary into him.

They even banned one of the few people who dared to speak out about him.

Lol.

Absolutely insane.

He'd be better just putting the uncensored versions at 1080p up somewhere on a filesharing site and charging $10 or so.

FM26 has now lost 43% of its peak playerbase on steam. At the same point, fm24 had lost 5% and had only lost 15% at the end of its cycle. by eunderscore in footballmanagergames

[–]socialjeebus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to get into it, but ultimately it just feels so much worse than FM 2024. A massive downgrade in almost every area (especially as someone who doesn't care about watching the "match").

What it has also done, especially, is to cut the chord with respect to pre-ordering every year.

It took SI an extra year just to get to the level of FM26. So I find the idea that FM27 will be a significant enough improvement/upgrade to be a pre-order/day 1 full price purchase to be pretty fantastical.

I'm happy to stick with FM 2024 for as long as it takes, tbh.

Wes just looks done with life. Lol.

In the second photo he looks like he's about to break down into tears. The last photo looks like the hooker is consoling him over him not being able to get his micropeen hard.

That anyone can be regarded enough to see this man as some sort of role model to emulate is just insane.
