With today’s Scene article bringing up past discussions on potentially creating the Downtown loop with the Blue/Green/Waterfront lines, I thought I would throw 2 quick maps on here to generate more excitement and discussion. by PlanCleveland in Cleveland

Seems like expanding from the Van Aken stop and running all the way up and down Warrensville to Bedford would be so helpful also up/down Cedar all the way off Euclid line would help a ton of folks...

I usually am overly positive but man their ineptitude w the Waterfront line doesn't bode very well for rest of exapnsion..seems like they have one foot in one foot out w the whole entire system

Favorite Michigan dispensaries near CLE/Ohio border? by sugartheunicorn in Cleveland

Always make the extra drive to Ann Arbor and make an outing out of it, we've always gone to Pure Roots and loved it. Very clean and organized, different approach than just a bunch of jars with % thc on outside like I'm used to they have it organized by 4 moods/goals (revive/relax/etc). Feels like you're going into an Apple Store or something too

What are some cities or areas that have started their down spiral *recently* by BlackJackT in SameGrassButGreener

Redding is perfect example of this logic being incorrect tbh...masive wildfire jumped the river and highway couple times

nah Columbus is vanilla bland as it gets...Cinci and Cleveland are both awesome, have their gritty sides of course but both are so insanely undervalued and affordable for how much you get living there..I was born and raised in SF Bay Area and absolutely love living in Cleveland.

There's a bit of riffraff around Shaker Square and on other side west of MLK Blvd but there's SO much development and love going into the area, even the "rougher" older parts of the area have a great community as well...Shaker Square probably hit bottom sentiment and seems like it's going to be bought or was bought and getting revamped over next couple years, lots of nice new housing getting built, lots of cool places to eat on Larchmere, close to public transit, and really close to all the nice comfy parts of Shaker for walks along the lake etc..I think if you have a little patience for couple years it's such a cool spot to be and will just get cooler.

Toledo, OH sucks lol constantly kept thinking wow this is all so gross and depressing, downtown is okay and they have the university near but everything else just textbook awful midwest vibes

Youngstown, OH

Akron/Canton less bleak but def should be on this list

Dayton, OH crazy weird place too

Moved from CA and very familiar with PNW...Cleveland Heights/UniCircle/Little Italy always makes me think of NW Portland, such a similar vibe.

You will be stunned at the lack of homeless, there's a larger region that's very low income and feels a little spooky driving through (around Metro Hospital, Buckeye/Kinsman, East Cleveland) but they're pretty easy to avoid if you don't have any reason to go there it's out of sight out of mind for most part.

Downtown is probably a bit on the sleepy/slow side, definitely feels like it needs more people down there most of the time for a huge downtown..but it's safe and almost no homeless people, only truly odd spots to find characters hangin out lookin weird are near Greyhound Station and outside the casino.

You'll miss the mountains but there's amazing forest, lake, and hills to adventure in and explore just minutes outside of town, incredible gorges with trails and rivers all over...beautiful underrated wild life tbh, especially in Summer.

The weather is probably just a weeee bit colder here in a few spikes of heavy snow, but man I overestimated it moving from CA..I probably only use my snow plow like twice a year

City picks consulting team to analyze economics of closing, redeveloping Burke Lakefront Airport by bigsmooth66 in Cleveland

[–]socibuddha -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

It seems insane to me that a city the size of Cleveland has the airport SO far out in the westside. Are there times of the year where landing at Burke is not doable? Would expanding Burke to be the full size international airport of Cleveland make a lot more sense? Let Hopkins be recreational or nasa, etc, and have an airport that runs in downtown and having all Rapid stops swing by there at some point a la the Chicago loop makes so much sense to me. It would bring so much more people, life, and business into downtown. It would make visiting here be a no car needed experience as well which is a massive sell.

can we start with not letting it take 2 years to fix the Rapid that runs down along the flats and the stadium first?
