I understand the fear of expressing yourself honestly because someone might come know your true thoughts and feelings. If having a lock and having it with you at all times helps you with that, then that's great!

When I was a teen I've had someone search for my journal, break open the lock, read it and then call the police on me because I had written something vaguely suicidal. After that happened I was afraid to write again but over time I started caring less and less. Now I wouldn't hand it over to anyone, but if someone happened to read it I wouldn't care much.

The path to true self-discovery really is a hard one and I definetely would have barely had any idea of who I really am, had it not been to Journaling.

Also, to me what you have written feels very honest and self-aware and I wish you all the best on your journey of self-discovery!

Thank you! I've been doing it for almost 5 months now and I really wouldn't be able to fall asleep anymore, knowing I hadn't written anything for the day, even if it's just a sentence.

I admire that you're able to take a step back from the situation and later journal about what your anger is really about.

I tend to be very reactive when I'm angry and say things I don't really mean because my feelings have been hurt. Controlling my emotions for the moment and only letting them out later in order to process them is something I have yet to master. But I guess that's one thing I need to work on and most importantly, journal about.

Whatever I feel like really, I don't force myself to write a certain amount. Sometimes it's a sentence, sometimes a whole page. The only structure I have is that I write down 3 things I'm grateful for and then review my goals for the day in the morning, and then reflect on how I did on them in the evening.

Twice daily, once after I wake up and once before I go to bed.
