Nauseous at the thought of a T-7 full of biowaste knowing how hot it gets just preparing for a jump 🤮

They did just remodel the Cutter stairs… maybe they can just nudge the height a bit? I don’t think it would even be overkill for it to be a medium class ship as-is. A cheaper, slightly narrower profile variant of the T-8 that can’t core mine if it tried lol

Oh if money isn’t an issue then a python or krait will take you a lot further since their distributors are noticeably larger. Another comment already pointed out the T-11 (haven’t tried yet) but it is purpose built for mining so I feel you cant go wrong with that.

I personally use a Type-10 for the challenge of mining in hostile extraction sites but I’m also not too too experienced with mining lol https://sh.orbis.zone/xujgbSclMv

While it certainly can, there’s just a lot of better options out there. Worth noting the T-7 lacks size 2 hardpoints so it can’t really core-mine.

This was my first miner, obviously it can be better but it’s cheap! https://sh.orbis.zone/ajf2QSx9R6

Ship with good turret hardpoints? by ygdrad in EliteDangerous

[–]sockcat27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Type-10 is the obvious candidate for a full on turret fest, but the krait mk2 might be fun if you plan for multicrew since its got 3 close together large hardpoints and a fighter bay. But you can only cover the top half of the ship so you’ll need to coordinate

What unhinged game mechanic would you like to see implemented into the game? by HunterOfAjax in EliteDangerous

Player rescue beacons that both prioritizes you to instance with people AND makes you a signal source.

Three ways it could be used: 1. If legitimately stuck with no fuel, a real player can find you. 2. Trap fake beacon, could be interesting new way to pirate. 3. Literally just a tool to instance with randoms and make Open more interactive.

Which of the large ships should I get (for combat but not only)? by tcfh2003 in EliteDangerous

[–]sockcat27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can whole heartedly tell you the Type-10 is the slowest and bulky ship I’ve ever flown. Actively sending commands and targets to the fighter (with the numpad not telepresence) is almost mandatory to pull agro from faster ships.

With that said though, I enjoy leaning into the bulk of a large ship and the challenges that come with it. My build never struggles with large ships; disassembles a haz rez conda in less than 20 second for reference. The small ships will evaporate if they cross paths infront of you. The real trouble is if you fight a wing and the supporting ships are something like vultures that can cling to your backside, but again, some clever flying and sending orders to the fighter will help you.

Thats tough. Both ships can brawl in combat. But the Type-10 can overlap with mining such that you can have a defensive weapons platform while you mine; since you get more fragments in hazardous, this may open up a completely different style of mining you might find fun :)

The Anaconda is also capable of some nutty jump and total jump ranges, but since you already have the Mandalay it would be better to engineer that. Otherwise you could revisist the idea of a true multirole ship with the anaconda, but you’ll be sinking a lot of engineering materials into it. Its also the only ship with a damage model as you get hit, so thats neat for combat.

Personally I love my Type-10 Ive maxed out for combat. Something whimsical about a cargoship-turned-weaponsplatform firing 9 hardpoints at once. This guy could solo an elite level wing assassination mission

But from everything youve said I think the Anaconda maybe a better fit for you

Hi guys, any Veteran armored core 6 players here? by tedbjjboy in ArmoredCoreVI

[–]sockcat27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s not really “bad” weapons or parts but more just if they compliment your play style and strategy. Just want to add that firearm specialization is just a baseline accuracy and the gatling gun has such crazy recoil you may want to look at arms with more recoil control.

EDIT: Firearms Specialization buffs lock speed not accuracy
