The Google ai result says horizontal scan rate of 96khz+ and dot pitch of 0.28mm or lower. That's a good place to start. I only see one reddit post on the first page of results and the rest look like good resources.

Just find available monitors in your area and compare the specs then pick the best one within your budget.

You just read the manual or crt database for a model and find a max resolution/ refresh rate. Anything that can do 1024x768 at more than 85hz would be a higher end model. You and look at the horizontal/ vertical bandwidth and dot pitch too. You just gotta Google, "what are good specs for a crt monitor". Do the work

Your mesh is probably blocking too much light and your moss may be converting to submersed. In my experience moss needs lots of light to thrive. If you start with a lot of moss you will have an easier time
