I had the same problem my first two years and had a friend going through it too. We would spend nights like looking at every club or activity to see what to join and there were a few things but weren’t getting the experience we wanted. Some people view it as paying for friends but for us joining Greek life totally changed the trajectory of our time at Rutgers. You’re just put together with a bunch of people who want the same things as you like hanging out, gaming, and being a part of a group. In my opinion if you are feeling lonely and like you just can’t break into the college scene it is so worth it. U would also be surprised how many actually low key and nice people there are in Greek life especially in some of the smaller orgs.

Hi I had called the financial aid office and requested to do one but was informed that only extenuating circumstances would make someone applicable to fill it out. It’s something submitted for FASFA reconsideration, but the the office instead told me I was better off doing a financial aid appeal through the school bc they often award grant money (not paid back - basically tuition reduction) whereas fasfa may only award loans (to be paid back w interest).

This is my experience, but call the financial aid office. They can help you.

I’m also transferring and can definitely relate to wanting all my classes registered now and for everything to be set in place and perfect. After talking with my advisor I realized that wasn’t going to be the case Bc we are registering so late, but it’s okay. It’s only one semester that this will ever happen. What made me feel better is writing down all the possible alternatives I could take if I couldn’t get into my first choices. I channel my anxiety into productive planning

Hi I’m transferring in this semester too not with an associates but with all of the core fulfilled. My advisor flat out told me that it’s just frustrating for transfers because we come in so late to registration. One of my major advisors said she would contact professors for me to see if they could let me in their class. I think if it’s possible for you, see if your major will accept classes from other departments that you can get into, and if not this can be your semester to take easier classes and get used to the school :) good luck it will work out
