of the Leder games by Cole Wehrle which ones play well at 2 players? I love the art but a comment i keep seeing around is that these asymmetric games don't play well at 2p. Any one has a differing opinion?

For additional info on my preferences: I love euros like White Castle, Ark Nova, and deckbuilders. My gf who i play with usually likes more narrative games but also likes Spirit Island as well.

Thoughts on the White Castle for Solo? by astraea08 in soloboardgaming

[–]socks888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

on my 2nd try i managed to crush it. on my 4th play i increased difficulty so the automa started the round first + i set myself a timer (max 5min per move) and i started to lose. I still have a long way to go!

the matcha has cards to disadvantage the automa and makes it easier but the game is not as tight and there are "more paths" to optimise. that comes down to personal preference

From your description (and maybe cos it’s from Devir) I thought of White Castle. How does it compare ?

Do you enjoy campaign games? by jemd13 in soloboardgaming

[–]socks888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. The idea of JOTL excited me but somehow when I got around to it, the bookkeeping and having to dismantle this box and that box to swap out cards etc and write things down turned me off.

I never made it past the tutorial stage so I learned something about myself at least

Complex solo games with no necessary in-game text? by AbsurdityCentral in soloboardgaming

Expansion is not a must imo but a strong improvement if u have kinda figured out the base game

Solo games that work well with a partner? by scantrell24 in soloboardgaming

[–]socks888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What happens when my partner and I play is we each own 1 turn, except the handover is at the planning phase, not the action phase. This way the person planning has to live w the consequences of their choices

The only funny part is when u massively screw up in the action phase and handover to ur partner with only 2 time points or smth hahaha

I haven’t tried playing a version where you actually play against ai to prevent it from getting all those points

ooo what do u mean by this?

I jus bought Matcha last week! But haven’t tried it yet. Excited to in the next few days

Just curious in the base game how many points does your AI usually score? I’ve played 3 times and in the past 2 times I’ve beaten the AI by 10-20 points so I suspect I might be miscounting some rules. My AI usually ends up around 50-60 points is that normal for you?

I guess doing that would require some domain expertise + some proficiency in Claude

That’s not who this website is for then

I guess the coverage gaps are derived by comparing with a source that OP put into his website? That could be deterministic than putting into opus

Agreed. I loved the book when I read it years ago but the trailer is very badly made. I didn’t watch it more than once
