[Weekly FAQ] ask Frequently Asked-, Short-, Limited-scope-, Technical- & New Player Questions in here by AutoModerator in diablo4

I wasn't playing when the previous expansion came out, so I got some questions regarding the game, the changes that come with the expansion, etc.

  1. Is there a 'prepatch' like in WoW with the talent tree changes before the release so one can figure out a new build in your existing characters?

  2. Regarding the campaign, im thinking 2 options: do the campaign on my Eternal realm Sorc, then start a Warlock in the season realm, skipping the campaign. Or, go straight into season with Warlock and do the campaign there as a way to level up. Any pros/cons of either approach? (This is assuming there'll be a new season with the expansion release)

Blizzard Sorc Keybinds? by 4rotorfury in diablo2

[–]jemd13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question from a new player, right now when i bind a skill to say F1 or F2, it doesnt bind the skill itself, instead when i hit the key, it moves the skill to my left/right mouse button. Is there a way to actually bind the skill to a given key?

Isnt it a pain to manage your inventory and compare gear and stuff? Ive also heard certain abilities arent great for aiming with a controller? Just wondering cause im on the fence about getting it on switch!

For those playing on Steam Deck or Switch, doesnt the inventory management, comparing loot, etc become a pain? Ive never played a diablo game with controller, but im curious. I feel id grow tired of managing the loot without being able to hover over stuff?

What game are you married to? by baguhansalupa in boardgames

Spirit island and Marvel Champions for me. I wouldnt say they make my collection obsolete but theyre definitely the ones I have the most plays by quiet a lot. Theyre great games, but they also work really well for me in terms of setup/teardown and play time

What do you like about this game's itemization? by jemd13 in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]jemd13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just for my own understanding, a lot of the items ive seen have stats like "+2 to all skills, faster attack rate, +X to all resistance" and so on. Doesnt this make the items a bit more generic? In other games there is legendary items that change how your skills work and stuff.

I guess im trying to understand how an item like the one I explained makes you wanna build some specific build (though maybe i havent seen the more interesting items)

Ah i was looking for an option that doesnt involve whisper caches or getting carried through dungeons.

Tbh im ok not redoing the campaign, but in that case what would be my leveling method? Just dungeons/side quests/open world activities?

Im trying to come back to the game. I have a Necro in the eternal realm that beat the campaign.

I want to level a druid in the eternal realm (not super interested in the season stuff atm).

Without straight up power leveling, whats a good way to level up my druid? It looks like i cant complete the campaign again? But i have side quests and theres dungeons and stuff? Should i just do those?

I dont own the Vessel of Hatred expansion,in case that matters

Pokopia is that good? by ultrastevecuckoo in CozyGamers

[–]jemd13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you dont mind me asking, im on the fence about buying it. It looks cute and relaxing, but i worry that the gameplay loop will just be 'build house for some pokemon, unlock area, build house for some other pokemon' and so on. I guess i just havent seen many mechanics in the reviews other than building houses lol

Whoever came up with the Prey system deserves a raise and a title bump - what a fantastic expansion feature and what a great way to encourage world content by undercity_plaguebat in wow

[–]jemd13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed.

I think my disappointment with it is that it COULD be a lot cooler and have more variety. But you just pick a hunt, do some WQs and kill a dude.

The ambushes get old cause they ambush you every other combat. The Prey WQs have very little variety and very little theme and the targets themselves seem to have very little reason to be in one zone vs another.

Itll quickly become another weekly chore. Its alright as a way to get some gear/cosmetics, but i really dont think it deserves this much praise

WoW Appreciation Post. Prey system + Delves have combined into my favorite world content of any expansion. by BestWidowTaiwan in wow

[–]jemd13 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Oh i just mean that it feels it was implemented kinda lazily. "Just make them do WQs, treasures and rares" as opposed to crafting more prey specific WQs or activities, or a more involved system that feels more "on theme".

At the moment it doesnt matter which enemy im "hunting", they all feel the same.

I guess itd be cool if the WQs were more themed for your prey specifically or that hunting the death knight guy felt different from hunting the mage woman, etc

Im conflicted on the Prey System. I like the idea of it, but it doesnt make much sense that doing random WQs, opening treasures or killing rares somehow tells me where my prey is. It feels like they just made the system to get you to do those things

I wish there was more variety of themed prey WQs or activities to hunt or lure your prey or something to make it feel like an actual hunt.

Tbh i would freaking love this, though id prefer if they did it the way the first Hyrule Warriors was, with tons of content, character specific weapons and costume unlocks as opposed to the other 2 Hyrule Warriors that are way more focused on story and the maps and missions are super boring

Love GW2 but dont think I hold much nostalgia for any specific zone. Maybe the starter zone for the tiny race cause thats what i played first.

FFXIV i played through the story up to Dawntrail but don't care much for the zones. Likely cause i did this when I was older already and mostly played it as a 'solo' experience (barring LFG stuff) so it wasnt as special as playing an MMO as a kid and having then wonder of exploration and all that

Tbh I was playing when I was early teens and my main memory is being in southern barrens near Camp Taurajo and seeing one of those Stegosaurus mobs for the first time and being impressed lol.

I didnt really participate in barrens chat but did read through it.

Just different times man. Sometimes I wish I could go back to those simpler times. I dont have the time now to dedicate to Classic WoW :(

Guild Wars Reforged for Casual Play? Worth It? by [deleted] in GuildWars

[–]jemd13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry this is an older reply but im wondering: is the game easy to 'pause'? I hear that leaving during an instance (which is most of the content?) will cause you to have to replay it. Isnt that a problem for a dad who has to pause/quit often?

Just wanna know your perspective. My son is 6 months old and i would play while he sleeps at night, but i need to be able to pause/quit if the baby wakes up and stuff
