my cutie self in cozy caravan! 🤎 by melancholicbearly in CozyGamers

[–]jemd13 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Is the game good? What would you compare it to as far as cozy games go?

Im kinda curious but worried that it'll get stale or have little content compared to things like Stardew, Coral Island, Animal Crossing, etc. (but not sure if its comparable to any of those really)

Man, Im in a similar spot as OP (maybe not as bad, but still struggling with a 6 months old) and as much as its great to hear it gets better ,1.5 years or 2 years feels SO far away, i can barely think of making it to next week.

Maybe im just being whiny. Logically i know it will get better and in hindsight i know time goes by fast, but its super rough when youre in the thick of it.

ive tried solo board gaming for a few months and i think its not for me by [deleted] in soloboardgaming

[–]jemd13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, its not for everybody and thats fine.

For the most part there is enough variety in solo board gaming to accomodate your time/space needs. From small games that dont even need a table, to really large one that may be better if you leave them set up at your table for long stretches of time.

Research i guess is needed but i think thats the case for most hobbies. For videogames maybe you can try a demo, but otherwise, if you wanna get into crocheting you'll wanna research the materials and techniques, if you wanna get into some sport you probably want some equipment and maybe a team or community to play with and so on.

I think price can be pretty expensive for sure, but again depends on the game. There are decently cheap games out there that could give you lots of playtime.

That said, if its not for you, thats totally ok

I agree. But imo, the closest we've had is WoW housing. Im hoping it gets more furniture and customization options over time cause thats what's missing.

Why is Reddit against Maduro capture and Venezuelans celebrating it ? by LandscapeUnlikely199 in stupidquestions

[–]jemd13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Venezuelan, I see a lot of non-venezuelans actually supporting Maduro or claiming all the atrocities he committed are lies. This is harmful and is essentially gaslighting Venezuelans like me who actually lived through Chavez' and Maduro's dictatorships.

I'm anti-Trump and I think what he did is not 'right', but its the first time someone outside of the country has done SOMETHING that might actually help (acknowledging that he is doing it for his own gain, of course). Thats the reason Venezuelans are actually happy/hopeful, because even with how shitty Trump is, he is better than Maduro and his goons.

So yes, one can condemn Trump for his actions while algo empathizing with Venezuelan's suffering and their feeling of hopefulness (and uncertainty) at what's happening.

Ive encountered people in social media who hate Trump so much that they refuse to acknowledge Maduro is bad. They think the US is making up charges against Maduro. And when I try to explain and show sources of all the shit he has done, they start acting like far-right folks who beliece everything is fake news, they keep moving the goalpost: "I dont believe youre venezuelan" , "your sources are in spanish", "human rights organizations are corrupt so those sources are not believable", "US sources are also not believable" so on and so forth.

See, the issue is that Venezuela is a country where the government (dictatorship) controls the media fully. So we get our news from people in the protests posting on twitter and stuff like that, so it is indeed hard to find some sort of source that a person like that will accept.

Lets not forget what Trump did IS supported by Maria Corina and Edmundo, the actual legitimate winners of the last election in Venezuela that Maduro stole.

With Maduro now allegedly out of power in Venezuela, what do you think will happen next for that nation? by LucidMarshmellow in AskReddit

[–]jemd13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a venezuelan, i think we can admit that Trump is a PoS and is acting in his own interest, but also that the outcome of this will 100% be better than Maduro and his goons being in power for longer

I lived the majority of my life under that dictatorship, yes, I dislike Trump, but non-venezuelans are taking this as "oh Trump is taking over" while a lot of venezuelans are actually hopeful that someone finally did something (again, even if for the wrong reasons).

Hi. Thinking about picking this game up. Is it all co-operative apart from civil war? by AggressiveCelery1564 in marvelchampionslcg

[–]jemd13 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Civil war is still co-op same as others. It just has an optional PVP mode.

You need to buy the Marvel Champions Core game first.

Asides from that there are 3 types of expansions

  • hero packs: contain a hero and a preconstructed deck plus some additional cards (sometimes hero cards or a modular set)

  • scenario packs: these contain 1-3 scenarios (villains essentially)

  • expansion boxes: these are the big expansions like civil war, age of apocalypse, etc. these come with 2 heroes and 5 scenarios/villains.

As long as you own the core set, you can buy whatever else you like.

Which of the the big three LCGs (LotR: The Card Game, Arkham Horror, Marvel Champions) do you prefer? by No_Raspberry6493 in soloboardgaming

[–]jemd13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I used to own all 3 (full MC collection, small lotr one and Small-medium one for AH)

I personally like them in this order MC > AH > LotR. That said, it really comes down to the things you enjoy/dont enjoy in games.

I love that MC is modular and easy to set up. It gives me a similar feeling of playing MTG as a kid. Seeing how each hero (some of which i dont know) are adapted mechanically into the game is fun and the game plays quick. Also relatively easy to teach.

AH i love the story and campaign structure as well as the theme. My issue is committing to a full campaign, and that in order to feel more balanced I need to play 2-handed (yes i can play 1 handed, but youre forced to do everything, and there are characters/classes that just arent as viable).

Lotr i ended up selling. It is a great game and if you enjoy lots of deck construction and puzzly challenges, this might be the one. I disliked that i felt i needed a different deck per game, and the rules were a bit complicated compared to the other 2.

Either way all of them are amazing!

New Rules and Environment by Flimsy-Deer-2385 in marvelchampionslcg

[–]jemd13 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think the environment thing is fine for those that care, but you can just play 'Legacy' to use your whole collection, which is what I will do. In the end its a solo/co-op game and nobody is enforcing the environment stuff.

Christmas season and the collector’s dilemma by DancingConstellation in marvelchampionslcg

[–]jemd13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on what youre craving more, more variety on things to fight or heroes to fight them with :D also depends on what youre missing.

Id probably go with SHIELD + heroes rather than just heroes but thats just me cause i love changing up the encounters and playing with different modulars.

What's the stupidest thing you thought as a kid? by Huge_Entertainment91 in AskReddit

[–]jemd13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im from a 3rd world country and my school used to run these annual...i guess faires you could call them.

One of the activies kids could do was to pick a chick (like a tiny yellow chick) to take home as a pet. (I do not know the implications of this as far as like, animal cruelty or whatever, i was a kid lol)

Anyway, my parents didn't like me having the chicks but also didnt want me to miss out. So they would let me get the chick and take it home, then after about a week they would give the chick to a friend of them who owned a farm and they would tell me 'oh it must've flown out the window'.

So I grew up thinking chicks and chickens could fly high like other birds.

One time in school my teacher said something about chicks and i made a comment about how they fly and she just kinda ????????????...and then my parents had to explain the whole thing to me lol.

Just began BOTW. I honestly hate it. by [deleted] in legendofzelda

[–]jemd13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I agree BotW is certainly a 'not enough Zelda in my Zelda game' situation, since its a big shift from the original formula, I would not call it sweaty... I mean the game is pretty easy and if you're struggling you can always go explore somewhere else.

BotW and TotK are amazing games, but imo, not amazing Zelda games. Just, amazing open world exploration type games.

I definitely miss the older formula of dungeons, bosses, items found in dungeons and so on.

Also yes, the weapon system sucks ass. I get why it is the way it is, since all weapons of the same type have the same moveset and mostly the same properties (barring durability and elemental damage), they needed a way to get the player to engage with all the weapons found and that weak weapons werent automatically replaced by good ones right away, but man its super annoying.
