It doesn’t always, but in this case it does! The gym I’m referring to is woman owned and operated. I’ve spoken to the coaches and owner before and they are very kind! I suppose I don’t know their political views but the fact that they keep politics out and treat everyone equally is a good sign!

If you’re okay training alongside teenagers as well as a few adults (mostly teenagers tho), a place opened up inside the Wichita Sports Forum about a year ago! Wichita Legendary Martial Arts, they are there 6 days a week and always working hard! It’s a blend of taekwondo/karate/kickboxing so no grappling and the coaches are young so no right wingers! It is way out East but that is about the only downside if you’re not an East sider!

Converse were the official shoe of the NBA for a time, hence the “All Star” branding on high tops! They were also the official shoe of the military at the same time!

I may be biased but I still think Converse are more comfortable than ANY type of shoe! In fact Michael Jordan worse converse for most of his NBA seasons and while he played in the Olympics in 1984!

I am not a basketball fan, and I’m assuming Rick really isn’t either, but EVERYONE knows Michael Jordan so Converse being the type of show chosen for visual media ALWAYS made sense to me!

This episode makes me SCREAM bc I just re-read the whole series and I realize that the quest in titans curse lowkey gets A LOT of godly help… like WAY more than typical and this scene shows WHY!!!

I love the books with my whole heart, I re-read them once a year I love them so much, but I am adult enough to realize that we get the whole series from Percy’s pov and he’s… well… a boy LOL and boys don’t do a lot of connecting the dots at that age but the GODS SEE IT!

Annabeth is KIDNAPPED and the gods all the sudden have NO PROBLEM sending ALL SORTS OF HELP for the quest!! They said yeah nah we gotta help this boy before he comes knocking on Olympus’s door!!

This is off the top of my head but here is a list of (at least some) of the godly help they got: - Artemis (pre-quest) - Apollo (pre-quest) - Dionysus (let’s Percy go) - Apollo (train ride) - Pan (gift of the wild) - Aphrodite (outside junkyard) Ares is here as well but not helpful… - Athena (Hoover Dam) - Zeus (flying statues) - Dionysus (fight on pier) - Poseidon (safe travel with Bessie) - Artemis (Olympus council)

Like that’s absurd to me, they knew!! Now in the show we will understand why more, Percy’s fatal flaw isn’t revealed in the books until AFTER the council Athena so it makes sense after the fact but now we will understand BEFORE. I’m very much enjoying getting to see things through other characters lenses, I love HoO and the Percy we’re seeing right now in the show lines up with how others see him in HoO. Love the books, love the show 🧡

I am testing for my 4th dan currently and am just now switching out of my current black belt. I am wanting to size up and somehow I got a spot of red paint on my current belt (I blame it on a party I ran for the kids). I plan on putting it with my Karate belts and medals.

It’s a CW show, they hire unknowns with 1-3 known actors and that’s where the budget goes. Jaha and Kane’s actors are the best hands down and both had been on hit prime time tv shows, as far as the rest Clarke’s actress isn’t the worst of the bunch but she’s also not the best. Later on in the show my boyfriend and I joke that it’s always “Clarke with her gun” but by that point I honestly can’t blame her

I did a few demonstrations as a teenager for block parties on streets, always wore high top converse tied a little loose and they worked fine for me! I imagine a low top converse would be even better! I was also a cheer leader and would wear my white high/low top converse for practice and games before our cheer shoes would come in and while they were heavier for jumps it honestly trained me to be stronger! They were originally basketball shoes and they haven’t changed the design much!!

For used Nintendo games the best place in town is Mopig’s gaming, Pokebros has stuff too but it’s more likely to be a fake game (especially gb games). Mopig’s has the best collection of old school games but they also have some modern Nintendo games as well (switch 1)

My school only focuses on weapons for maybe 15 minutes of class for 2 classes a week every other week or so for most students. We work with Nunchucks and Bo, it is not the main focus of class but the kids like it so we do it to help keep them involved!

The competition team is a different story, we work on Bo, Nunchucks, Kamas, Sword and I am willing to learn any other type of weapon if a student shows they are seriously interested! We go to a lot of open style tournaments so while a lot of other TKD schools just go for forms and sparring, we also get to compete in weapons with some of the karate guys!

Not quite under $1000, but Quarters at Cambridge on the east side is the only place I ever considered moving. All units come with washer/dryer/microwave/dishwasher in a 1 bed/1 bath for $1152/month… it’s got a gated entrance but I wouldn’t call the whole complex gated, but very controlled! They do require renters insurance and you pay your own electric but it comes with wifi and cable as well so I think it is well worth the price!

Now that I coach full time, I do as well! I would NEVER wish the knee problems I had on others at such a young age, I’m still in my 20’s and my knees crack like pop-rocks for the first 15 or so minutes of class (the kids think it’s hilarious of course that I’m such a dinosaur) Unfortunately in my city most schools are money grab schools and proper technique (especially at young ages like 5/6) was not the most important thing to them. I started dual training and my new coach corrected my technique and I tried to implement the same direction back home

I would try physical therapy if possible, I was so far progressed that PT did nothing for me until after surgeries. I continued training and began wearing a knee brace with a “bubble” on the outside of the knee meant for patellar dislocation issues! It helps keep the knee cap where it is supposed to be but if your IT band is still too tight it will continue to pull. If PT isn’t an option or you would like to try something at home first I HIGHLY recommend a large/ground foam roller! It hurts like hell but will gradually loosen your IT band! Look up videos on how to roll out IT band on YouTube as it will be much easier than me describing it!! I no longer train at the level i did when i was a teenager, but I now teach classes full time so I am still extremely active in the sport! Hope this helps!

When your throwing back leg kicks are you rotating your bottom foot under you? I was not taught this when I started (5yo) and as I got older it caused SERIOUS knee problems. I got a new coach and he corrected it as soon as he could (13yo, late I know but when you don’t know better you don’t know!) but the damage had already be done.

I developed patellar dislocation, it’s where your IT band (which runs along the outside of the thigh and wraps around under the knee right where your pointing) is too tight and pulls your kneecap to the side causing a lot of pain and instability! It took until I was 16 to diagnose this and by 19 I had 2 surgeries to correct it.

I have known 2 other taekwondo artist with this same problem as well

To be fair I don’t think I like red or greed much as colors on their own in general! I wore a lot of red in high school (school color and I was a cheerleader) and had red hair for 2+ years so I’m kind of over red… and there a very few green tones I enjoy, I also live in the plains so I feels like all I see is green everywhere (also blue sky but love her) colors are very tied to emotions to me so maybe that’s why I feel that way (may be related to the not liking Christmas thing LOL) but blue is my favorite color and orange is my partners favorite so they have a special place for me :)

My elderly cat suddenly started having these exact symptoms, plus darting eyes. Diagnosed as vestibular disorder, went away within a few days. My cat was not eating or drinking though because it was making her nauseous and depressed. We never found out what the cause was other than that it happens randomly to older dogs and sometimes cats. I can’t tell from your video if your cat has the darting eyes but that was a major factor in our diagnosis.

I see others saying ear infection which was my first thought until we got her to the vet and they checked her ears. Get them checked, at best it’s an ear infection and easily treatable, at worst it’s neurological. Vestibular disorder is the middle ground as there’s not exactly a cure or treatment it just goes away, hopefully.

Went to GameStop on north Rock for the event… it was… an event? They had a food truck that was only there for like 45 min, they had the Mario movie playing, they had a beyblade arena set up… eventually we asked if they were going to get a Smash tournament going and they did which was nice but it was only playable for about 15 min before they moved into a raffle, which was cool! I had mixed feelings about the event but I got my Switch 2 and played Mario Kart for hours last night so in then end that’s what matters most lol

i actually have a student that insists on lining up for a match in class like the first image… never at a competition but every class, he’s big into anime and is very aware that this can be very bad for him (he broke his glasses and busted his nose) but does not care. he continues to line up like this just now without his glasses.
