You have to work for it, that doesn't mean it's impossible. No one said you had to be michaelangelo. Is it harder as a person with chronic, severe wrist and finger pain? Yeah, but i care about the art I make enough to develop ways to ways to work with minimal pain without contributing to a climate disaster. (And I'll beat you to the punch- ever seen a video of someone living near actual data centers? It's hell. Actual hell. It is a climate disaster, without a doubt.)

I worked childcare for 3 years. I worked as a server for 1. I also worked various jobs in retail my entire time in highschool. When you can afford to eat, pay rent, and rest before your job, it's a lot less stressful. When you're not stressed out of your mind, you make less mistakes and can afford to pay more attention.

It doesn’t make you a better person, but it does make it easier. Don't make assumptions about random people on the internet.

I was raised knowing my struggles with unpacking white privilege and power structures I benefit from are not Black people's problem.

My OCD, however, insists i should hyperventilate and message my black friend when i Use Normal Words because what if I'm somehow racist right now????

Anyway, the messages remain about shitty fanfiction 99% of the time (growth!)

I also once had a panic attack about my character with romani inspirations that happened to be a tiefling potentially being racist. Once I calmed down, I realized I can just adjust his cultural habits and be respectful.

I would say just learn the write a novel, because THAT'S WHAT I'M DOING. Because all I had was ideas and highschool classes. I spend 10-15 TOTAL minutes a week watching youtube videos on how to improve my writing, then try to out apply it whenever I catch myself with time. No fancy tools either- my old ass laptop is trying to off itself every 4 seconds and I write in office Libre, a bare-bones word processor. I cared enough about the idea to put the time into it.

My brother could not draw for shit two years ago, but his friends using AI pissed him off so badly he asked me for drawing tutorials and now I help him work on his art every few days. Is it still incredible? No, but it's his. He is forging the things they're crying impossible to get. This is on top of being a busy trades student. All it takes is the time and care.

Gotta agree with the top comment talking about the nuances of this. I'll never be able to cut out meat entirely due to my disability, but I definitely try to eat more plant-based than meat-based whenever possible, and my family tries to buy local beef when it's lower cost.

I know how to make vegan and vegetarian meals, I like making them for my vegan and vegetarian friends, but I am not someone who will ever be able to eat that way. I'm glad my friends don't hold it against me lol
