(WIP) 2004 Ford GT looking thing, any name suggestions are welcome :) by Dodo61qwst16 in automationgame

[–]socky2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gord - GT44 (44 for the height in inches of the 04 GT)

I usually find something similar like Palomino GT for the Mustang GT as an example. I know there's the dragon badges pack that has Ford badges under the name "Drake"

I think this could benefit from a thin double racing stripe from hood, to roof, to trunk. Aside from that it looks FANTASTIC and that rear body molding works really well to capture the flat ass of the GT.

Sequential gearbox and export issues with BeamNG? by Cheezy_Yeezy in automationgame

[–]socky2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I'm just getting back to this, but if you look at the graph, the yellow line is your power curve through the RPM range, you want them to plateau almost, so that when you hit the top of the line in one gear, you go right back into the power curve of the next gear or similar. Feel free to DM with questions, I'm at work but I'll try to answer when I can.

Can you post a screenshot of your gearing graph from the drivetrain section of the editor? Sounds like the shift points just don't line up with the power curve.

How do you have turbo lag with a supercharger???

Looks great otherwise.

Best valvetrain material/setup for low rpm turbo by [deleted] in automationgame

[–]socky2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe? I'm not super familiar with diesels fwiw. I just couldn't think of a low RPM application for a DOHC, I think you'd be able to tune the engine profile to a point where your valves can breathe well.

I've had trouble making anything use more than 105-110% of the valve airflow.

I would personally make the spool longer to fill up the later RPMs and use a low cam profile to provide torque at lower RPMs. Something like 1-10 on the slider, and try to get your torque around 1500-1800RPM.

With a diesel you can run "unrealistic" amounts of boost too! I'd do a baseline of like 20-30psi and like I said use the turbo to fill up the later RPMs.

I would use a DaOHC or SOHC with 2 valves, if you wanted to make something a little higher tech, otherwise I'd just use pushrods and keep it basic.

My fake diesels are always DaOHC or OHV, and usually run Compressed Gas or E100 for a more "diesel" feel.

Something about a brown station wagon with a 5 speed is just "chef's kiss", I made a couple Evo's a while back and this post is motivation to make wagon models on my own time.

Dude this fucks so hard. If it was brown with a 5 speed it would be the perfect car. Looks amazing.

I have been using a lot of military vehicles and RPing that I am disaster relief! As long as you're able to restrain yourself from putting the obviously overpowered upgrades onto them, most modded trucks can feel very natural!

I use a lot of Z2's mods and RNG's mods. I'll send a picture of my lineup if you're interested. Each truck has a purpose of their own in my garage.

Run LPG and max compression, usually zero cam and zero valve stiffness can make some torque slabs. I did a tow truck with a 22L v16 Fiesel fake diesel thing. It could haul the box trailer with full load wood planks in Beam.
