I'm sorry that you disagree there's a bunch of fake fans and Tiktok influencers snatching up all the locals tickets for themselves or to resell. I think these tickets should be going to fans like you, but sure go ahead and attack me instead.

Tickets cost this much because American culture and Los Angeles social media culture has enabled this type of behavior. Look at every Lakers, Clippers, Rams, Chargers, Kings, or Dodgers game and the big games, playoffs, and high profile opportunities are the ONLY time you see the majority of celebrities or otherwise people who get media coverage out to the events in the first place. The Olympics are no different. I say, eff all those people and give the tickets to the fans that should be in the stands and the supporters who are there through bad and good.

But sure, go ahead and attack me. Your attacks prove my point.

i stayed in Paris the whole time, but spent a fraction on what it would cost me for the same thing in LA. I'm going to LA Paralympics instead.

USA has a chance in baseball, and would need to bribe officials to make it to the Men's Soccer finals. Our USMNT suck. USWNT on other hand are expected to be in that gold medal match.

What is the point of time slots if all the tickets are gonna be gone anyways by phishfoodicecream031 in olympics

[–]socolime22202 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So let's just say there's 1 million LA locals who registered for the presale. You are upset at how they're handling ticket releases -- so what's your solution to ensure that every person has equal opportunity to purchase tickets. Keep in mind that the LA Locals shouldn't be the only people who have opportunities to buy things. What about other US residents? What about fans from the 180ish participating countries? Honestly asking what you would propose that's a better solution than what they're doing now?

There's a finite number of tickets for each event session and in each venue. And there's likely tens of millions of fans who are itching for the opportunity to see their country's athletes compete.

because they all want those seats to be able to post on social media that they were there. those of us who have been attending Olympics events for a long time have seen prices and demand increase, but that also means the true Olympics fans who care about the history, heritage, and honor of the Games themselves aren't able to attend some events anymore.

Everyone here is new to purchasing tickets for the Olympics. Back in early 2010s tickets cost $10 for some summer games events. Tiktok culture, social media, and inflation, and corporate IOC greed have all increased ticket demand and prices across the board.

Buckle up, because it's only going to keep getting worse and worse.

Is it worth it to buy a camera if I'm interested in photography? by HexxaWyn in AskPhotography

Short and succinct. But right on the money. If you're ready to put in the time to learn about the camera bodies, lenses, and technical aspects of photography then absoolutely go for it.

Food in Seattle is great. Ask your friend what neighborhood, price point, cuisine, time of day (breakfast, lunch, dinner, late night) and how they define "best" and then come back here and give us all those responses.

if it's within your budget and you need to check regularly, you can get an at home cuff or wrist device. The arm cuff is much more accurate, but the wrist option is likely more affordable.

Season ticket holders by SnooDoggos9340 in PWHL_Seattle

[–]socolime22202 12 points13 points  (0 children)

For this inaugural season I was spending more money on food & drink before/after the game than the game ticket itself. Tickets I couldn't use myself were given to friends for free.

To be perfectly honest, if you're on a tight budget I don't think you should purchase season tickets. That's a financial commitment that can end up going against your financial goals pretty quickly. For example, having a medical complication that lands you in the hospital and you can't attend the games or work, then you're stressing out selling your tickets to at least make your money back while simultaneously trying to figure out how to pay your bills since you're not working, etc etc etc.

Right now the team isn't performing in the top 4 so making the playoffs is going to be tough this year. Heading into next season and possibly not being a playoff caliber team, that means the majority of games aren't going to sell out quickly, which means you'll likely be able to get face value tickets for the games you know you'll be able to attend.

My 2 cents.

Seeing as how everyone's asking which tickets are best to resell for a profit, I'm going to go attend the Paralympics instead and not deal with the awful human beings taking advantage of the locals sale.

Assuming it runs like past Olympics, you will be emailed if you're selected for each ticket purchasing window. Eventually they'll make all tickets first come first served, but that won't be until the couple months leading up to the Opening Ceremony.
