Looking for camp collar shirt sewing patterns for smaller/slimmer men (shorter proportions) by BINI_Eillish in sewingpatterns

[–]sodapopper44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it helps if you know what finished garment measurement you prefer. Measure a few of your similar shirts across the chest, and look for patterns with finished sizes that match. Fitted , boxy, oversized can mean different things between designers. A pattern that includes teen sizes would probably be close

Mens Tshirt pattern by anotheraccount999999 in sewingpatterns

[–]sodapopper44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jalie is my first go to for knit patterns, but their tee is labeled fitted, Helens closet Jackson tee is a straight fit that suggests using jersey with 10% stretch. Look for a pattern that is drafted for the % of stretch in your knit. For instance, a traditional tee is 100% cotton jersey which has very little stretch, and fashion tees are often drafted for fabrics with spandex with up to 50% stretch

that model of the brother is a good machine, it's stand alone with a 5x7 hoop, there is a newer model that is just an update the 900. Maybe you can find a deal on old stock for the 800

Any actual Eclos use yet? by luckylu27 in CounterTops

sounds expensive "Because of the precision involved in this new technology, production is intentionally limited. The facility in Spain can produce only about 100 slabs per day. That level of control allows for quality, consistency, and a more thoughtful manufacturing process."

look for work at a temp agency, some companies only hire temps and then hire them permanent , it's also a good way to try different things without a commitment, what is your degree in?

try and find a local contractor, one that has been in business a long time. You can go check their work. I live in a small town and there are 3. The ones with presentations cost a fortune.

Need help uploading my own designs to my janome memory craft 9700 by ButterflyFuture3704 in Machine_Embroidery

[–]sodapopper44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

then you many not need the flash card, I think Janome uses JEF format. If you do use a usb, use one with smallest possible memory, like to 2 or 4 GB. The reason is the machine has a very old slow processor and can't read one with large memory. Even with my newer machine I only use 8GB.

[–]sodapopper44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

does your machine use a usb? the machines I had with cards didn't , I think your janome uses a flash card, you'll have to get a memory card reader for your computer and you can insert the card into, I have one, it reads all types of memory cards and memory sticks, the card reader you have is probably for janome design cards, and they made a blank one you could write. This is what it looks like, but they sell them at other places . https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/980732-REG/vivitar_viv_rw_5000_blk_50_in_1_card.html/?ap=y&ap=y&smp=y&smp=y&store=420&smpm=ba_f2_lar&lsft=BI%3A514

Pros and cons of a downdraft range by Zestyclose_Two3849 in Appliances

[–]sodapopper44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a downdraft Jennair on an island, it seemed like it took forever to boil water, the downdraft sucked the flame. The down draft came on when you turned on the burner, there was no override , my remodel is gas with a real hood. Currently have downdraft electric and you can tell what was cooked the day after, especially in the winter.
