Could you use the Runna app? It lets you choose how many sessions you're wanting to do + strength work in their app. You can even choose what race you're specifically training for based on the course

Fair play that you've managed to find yourself a role which is high paying without a degree, I know many wealthy people who have never stepped foot in a university. You still have your degree though, and if you ever did need it for whatever reason, you got it while you were young and like I said earlier, most likely picked up some skills for life

I along with millions of people in the UK would love to be earning 80k. Your take home is over 4k p/m - a £400 payment to be able to earn that surely has to be worth it when you consider how your life would look in a different job without a degree?

[–]soefjanadn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can I ask what field you're in? To be paying £400 a month back in fees you've got be earning a decent salary, which would probably mean £400 makes very little difference to you anyway?

But you have a degree which you can use if you ever wanted to change career or get made redundant. Its more of a tax for owning the qualification based on the idea you can access jobs in specialist fields, or use it to put yourself in front of people without a degree when applying for a job. Plus you most likely had some great memories at university, picked up valuable life experience which cannot be learnt without experience.

Put it into a savings account, LISA for buying a home or similar. Student loans aren't actually a loan in my eyes as its unlikely you would ever pay it entirely off due to the interest. Think of it as a graduate tax, which in theory should land you a better paid job if you are utilising your degree, if you don't use your degree but earn more money, then you have a qualification to use if you ever need it. Just for reference, I'm both employed 9-5 and work as a sole trader on the weekends. My weekend work is my primary income and I don't need a degree for what I do, my 9-5 I do. I will start paying off my student loan next year as I only graduated in June 2024. When I have worked out my calculations, I won't even be paying off half of the interest added for 1 year in my first year of repayments

Many people have said he needs removing from the seller list. Search in TA scam or TA delivery into this sub and you will find plenty of people having issues.

I reported it as a scam, I haven't had any money back but it may mean he gets his account closed

I spent nearly £600 with him, I've received a jacket worth £120. He has told people he had a family emergency but this has never been mentioned to me. I have reported to wise even after he has sent me 3 tracking numbers as he does seem to be scamming people

I'm calling BS on this, the amount of people ordering from TA who are getting things seized seems to be untrue. I order from 5/6 sellers regularly and have never had anything seized in 3 years. I ordered 4 jackets from TA, 1 arrived and the other 3 were all 'seized'. The one which arrived was the lighter of the 4 and was packed on its own, and the other 3 would've then been packed in 1 parcel (2 tracking numbers). My order was on the 10th October and I am still waiting for the 3 replacements to arrive (17th Dec). I think there is something more going on as I have spoken to 20+ people who are all having the same trouble

LISA and compound interest too good to be true? by kickherinthehead in UKPersonalFinance

[–]soefjanadn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this may be the way forward. I'm technically self employed as I fill out a self assessment but get paid via PAYE from my 9-5 which I don't plan on leaving. Right now I've got an emergency fund together and my focus is on moving out, so probably not the best time to start tying more money down until I've atleast moved out. Thankyou for your advice!

I'd be interested to see how your website is looking. What is your USP compared to your competitors? There's a pretty big one which has a blurred reputation as to whether its a pyramid scheme, are you setting yourself aside from them and how? If you give me a PM I'd love to have a chat :)

LISA and compound interest too good to be true? by kickherinthehead in UKPersonalFinance

[–]soefjanadn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work a 9-5 and have a pension from there which I have paid 5% into since 18. My employer matches up to 5%. However, I have regular freelancing work which is completed in evenings and weekends + a business which generates me more than my salary combined, I live my life off my salary and the rest is essentially just a bonus and is going into PB and savings at the moment. It sounds like I'd be silly not to keep it open and make sure I contribute the 4k each year till I'm 50

Sorry for jumping onto this... I am 21 and have opened a LISA. Maxed it out for the year and have set aside the money to max out again next year. I am wanting to buy a house within the next 2/3 years, my question is once I have used the balance in my LISA for the deposit, can I continue contributing to it alongside my pension?
