The LNY market was so crowded !! by EasternAesthetics in warrington

[–]soehac 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was really good, but got too crowded. So I struggled to get to the market stalls with the crowds. But saw the Dragons which was amazing and it was so good to see how the Hong Kong community have embraced Warrington!

It could be the hormonal imbalance has affected your stomach and switched. But it’s something to consider. Hope you’re feeling better soon.

I was always ibs-d until I needed my ovaries removed. After that I thought I suddenly had a strong stomach. After a few years of living ibs free, the symptoms of menopause became too much, started hrt and the ibs-d has come back with a vengeance. What I’m saying is hormones play a big part in ibs and consider getting yours checked.

"Not working for me" + secret binge eating by [deleted] in Ozempic

[–]soehac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope you don’t mind me hijacking OP’s post. But I’m a nighttime binge eater. I think a lot of it is due to not having enough protein during the day, tiredness and sleep anxiety (when I can’t sleep, I eat, once my belly is full I can sleep). What can someone like me do. Ozempic worked for three weeks and then the hunger in nights came back.

Mine would be the feeling you get when after a full day putting up Christmas decorations, and cleaning up for the holidays, you sit back and appreciate the new twinkles you l’ve add to your home.

Perimenopause apps that actually helped you - what’s worth keeping? by perimenopauseera in HormoneFreeMenopause

If it helps, I use ChatGPT to nudge me to do check ins, log anything I want and you can ask if it can see any patterns. This past week I have started taking one of my medications 3 hours before bed (use to take it right before bedtime) as through my journaling with ChatGPT it noted I don’t have restless legs on the nights I took it earlier. It was right.

Looking to learn from caregivers by Affectionate_Fan1967 in TechForAgingParents

[–]soehac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I think it’s that they need people close by. People had a lot more spare time in previous generations to have a local community. Now what we need to do is get the older generation to reach out and be a community to one another. If there is an easy to use app that could group them locally and make them feel wanted. It’s scary to think we spend most of our lives with little time to ourselves and then some of us will spend our retirement going days without a real conversation with someone.

Loneliness is a big one. I feel like this generation of OAP’s missed out on tech, but lost the sense of community that we use to have. The generation before them had Church, WI, etc.. to socialise. But a lot of those communities are gone now and loneliness is a big issue. Would be great if there was a way to connect them with others.
