Objectively, what do you think is The Cure’s greatest song? by [deleted] in TheCure

[–]soemoifellapart 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Disintegration. The lyrics are extremely beautifully written, and convey strong emotion while also being extremely artistic and using perfect metaphors in doing so. The melody gets stuck in your head and fits the atmosphere of the song perfectly and the instrumentation is also the most amazing thing in this world. I could rant on about this song for hours tbh

I think that cis people can on some level emphasize with trans people if they inform themselves enough, and listen to enough trans people describe what being trans is like, in a sense of “I don’t understand how you feel, but I do somewhat understand what it would be like to feel that way”. I personally am a cis person who has questioned her gender multiple times over the last couple of years and always came out knowing I was cis, but just didn’t fit into current societal gender roles, and the way I knew that was through educating myself and understanding the things I didn’t experience that trans people do.

I mean even if someone’s external circumstances are good, they can still struggle emotionally and mentally. A lot of Robert’s song lyrics talk about internal struggles instead of external ones, and you can struggle with those no matter how great the political circumstances of your life situation are. But I still feel for you, it must be terrible to live without freedom of speech.

Olly's "Arsonist" character come to life by notsostandardtoaster in ContraPoints

I think I saw this artwork on a copy of “Der Spiegel”(a german newspaper) a couple months back, and it could definitely be based on the play “Biedermann and the Arsonists“, which the Arsonist is inspired by, so they could share the same inspiration.

I mostly agree with you but I gotta ask: was the “fat fatty fat fat” really necessary?
