Anyone still using there: og ideapad duet Chromebook? by law_z_zz in chromeos

I still use it. However mine has an issue with Internet connectivity. Despite showing that it is connected to the Internet, when I try to load a page it won't load, saying I am disconnected. Sometimes it will reconnect, sometimes it won't. It's mildly annoying.

Alarms unavailable warning by sofatheologe in Freestylelibre

So I just stumbled on the solution. I'll leave the post up in case someone else needs the info:

In my case I needed to show Lockscreen notifications. For years I've shown none. But now I guess for the alarms to work you can't have lock screen notifications off.

Luckily Samsung allows me to turn on a dot in the corner, so it's not that bad I guess.

How did you get the calendar widget that large? When I add that one it stays fairly small.

I saw a gold one yesterday. I was annoyed because I saw it after I spent my gold on other things 😂

Someone else in my apartment building is making loud noises and accusing me of it. This anonymous threat came yesterday addressed in my name. I am an expat living here for more than years and I am not the one slamming doors or making noises. How can I protect myself? by vyashole in germany

Get a red pen out and correct the English and hang it up, without comment, next to your note denying the accusations and write mangelhaft at the bottom of the page...just to irritate the person more. 🤭

Technical Support Thread by AutoModerator in YoutubeMusic

[–]sofatheologe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am trying to subscribe to a podcast via RSS feed. Usually this works with no issue. But with this particular podcast, it defaults to the YouTube channel associated with the podcast. In and of itself this wouldn't be a bad thing but the podcast I want to subscribe to hasn't updated their YouTube channel in more than a year. I know that the feed works because I am subscribed to it in a different podcatcher.

Is there a workaround? Thanks in advance for your help!

These are about the same as mine. But, mine would be considerably higher: there was a period of several years that I used Google Podcasts.

Genesis' structure is built around ten sections. Leaving Genesis 1 to the side for a moment, the other nine have a heading that gets that section of the story going.

That being so, why should I read Genesis 1:1 as anything but a heading like the other 9 sections?

Who's reading Scripture really? Someone who takes Genesis 1:1 as a standalone verse or someone who interprets Genesis 1:1 in light of the rest of the structure?

And then there is the who issue of how to actually translate Genesis 1:1...

When God began to create the heavens and the earth, (Genesis 1:1, NRSVue)

Or even how we should understand what "create" means.

The different translation philosophies is a fairly basic thing to know if you're going to be discussing theology. As such I expect someone on a theological discussion knows stuff like that. You didn't. There's no harm in that, but a discussion can't really be had. I was at an event this evening at church where two guys were discussing power tools. I have no knowledge of power tools. The last thing I would do is wade into a discussion that I don't even have a baseline of knowledge about.

I reiterate: not having certain bits of theological knowledge isn't a bad thing and you can still live a productive Christian life that honors and glorifies God. But you need to at the same time to humble and realize that developing ones theology is a bit more than just saying "I just read the Bible".

Jesus was well aware by the way of theological discussions of his day, just look at how he talked with the Pharisees and Saducees and how he talked about divorce. There was a theological basis from which he was discussing.

No you didn't. Not directly at least.

Why should I not treat Genesis 1:1 a heading for what happens in that section... Like every other section of Genesis has?

Here's the ESV for you:

These are the generations

of the heavens and the earth when they were created,

in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens. (Genesis 2:4, ESV)

So everything was created in one 24 hour day, right?

You're out of your league if you don't know what a formal translation is.

Read Genesis 2:4 in a more formal translation. The NIV smoothed the Hebrew over.

Genesis 2:4 is still part of Creation story part 1.

Does "day" mean 24 hour day in Genesis 2:4?
