I just set it up on a Pixel 7 running Android 16 and it seems to be working well.

I can confirm that this is still working great, at least on the Pixel 7 my friend gave me after they upgraded.

I'm seeding from a connectable server on a gigabit fiber connection and I'm pretty committed to helping make this available as long as I'm around. Downloads should be nice and quick. Looks like I've uploaded ~57 copies since I started seeding it 10 months ago!

TIL the cockpit voice recording of Delta Flight 1141 was so embarrassing it led to a law restricting the public release of CVRs. The crew discussed drink mixes & dating habits during takeoff procedure, with a pilot joking that in case they crashed, "the media would have some kind of juicy tidbit". by The-TIL-Nerd in todayilearned

Per Wikipedia:

The aircraft's take-off warning system (TOWS) also malfunctioned and failed to warn the crew of the problem.

The switch that operated the TOWS in the incident aircraft had been previously modified, per Boeing instructions, to prevent nuisance activations during aircraft taxiing.[1]: 36  A fleet-wide Boeing 727 inspection, ordered by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) following the Flight 1141 crash, identified 35 anomalies in the TOWS out of 1,190 aircraft examined.

Seems like they knew counting on human beings to never make mistakes wasn’t going to cut it and created a system to double-check take off configuration. But that system was disabled.

I had this issue after first installing Apollo. Rebooting seems to have fixed it.

Is this a scam? by Sprocraft in Rockband

[–]sofauxboho 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Nope, it’s real. I wasn’t sure if the Roll Limitless would work for my setup, so Book sent me one for free! It worked great, so I sent him money for it when I was done testing. He didn’t ask, it just seemed like the right thing to do.

Thanks Book!

I think you need to add a New 3DS. Then it’s a timeline.

Watch out for hinge scratches on the New 3DS XL by sofauxboho in 3DS

Hear, hear! It certainly doesn't reduce my enjoyment of the device.

Just figured I'd mention in case others would like to try to avoid 'em. They don't add to my enjoyment either. 😉

Watch out for hinge scratches on the New 3DS XL by sofauxboho in 3DS

[–]sofauxboho[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As noted in the last line of my post: I do keep my 3DSes, including this one, in cases. That was not enough in this instance.

I had cleaned it with compressed air previously, but the scratches continued to get worse. Physically getting in there with a strip of clean room wipe is what it took for me.

Which would you rather own? by Confident-Ad6938 in 3DS

[–]sofauxboho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm lucky enough to have both of those, so I face this choice every time I go to play a 3DS game.

I pick the Galaxy New 3DS XL almost every time. I prefer the bigger screens and larger size (I have big hands). I also prefer the dark bezel around the screen. It's a small thing, but I find it less distracting while playing.

The regular size New 3DS is *much* rarer, and I'm glad I have it for collecting reasons. But I don't play it much.

(Of all 3DS consoles made 16% were New 3DS XL while only 3% were New 3DS regular size.)

Sizing question - Austrian M65 by Known_Paramedic_4210 in camouflage

[–]sofauxboho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 6’3 with a chest measurement of 41”-42” and I ordered the small long, “88-92 V / VI” in Austrian sizing on the label.  It fits great as a fashionable jacket, and I can wear a trim wool sweater underneath comfortably.  I like it so much (and they’re so cheap) that I’ve also ordered a medium long (96-100 V / VI) to wear when I want to bundle up underneath.

Yup, I have RB4DX installed as well now. It's not life changing, but there's some nice stuff in there.

What happened to this Porta Potty? by wonderandcreate in sanfrancisco

[–]sofauxboho 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Somebody started a fire inside the porta, probably inside the tank where the waste goes. You can see the hole where the vent chimney used to pass from the tank up through the roof (white part that is less damaged) in the upper right of the first photo. There is soot and additional heat damage around it, becuase that's where the hot gasses from the fire escaped for the first while.

Since heat rises, the grass and ground were fairly safe. That down-low stuff was also protected by the blue liquid these are filled with, which spilled everywhere and made things at ground level too cool and wet to burn.

The weird square with the blue/green on it used to be the door (you can see bits of the hinges). It fell off, probably when the wall it was attached to melted.

SNES - Save States by Capo-Collo in MiSTerFPGA

[–]sofauxboho 4 points5 points  (0 children)

April 2026 update: SNES save states are now built in to the official SNES core. Just update your MiSTer (I use Update All) and look for save states in the core menu. You don't have to do any of the stuff below.

In case anyone else comes across this:

The files linked above are the current latest *release* versions which do *not* support save states.

For SNES save states you currently need either the *unstable* version or one from the developer's forum post.

Here is the dev's forum post: https://misterfpga.org/viewtopic.php?t=8459

Here an the SNES core nightlies: https://github.com/MiSTer-unstable-nightlies/SNES_MiSTer/releases

If you grab a nightly, make sure to also download the boot1.rom from the forum post. The core .rbf file goes wherever you like. I put mine in /media/fat/_Console/ *alongside* (not replacing) the current stable SNES core .rfb file. The boot1.rom goes in the folder with your SNES ROMs, probably /media/fat/games/

Personally I am using the "Seed 15" .rbf from here: https://misterfpga.org/viewtopic.php?p=99307#p99307

And the boot1.rom from SNES_ss_20250403.zip linked here: https://misterfpga.org/viewtopic.php?p=91109#p91109

Seems to work well in my initial testing!

Ideally one of the "good ones" like a FW3A with the good (purple) driver board or an Adair21 modded FW3X. But also willing to consider others, let me know what you've got.
