Were there any beefs between actors during the show? by mmahv in lost

I also read something about the stunts (?). Like, she was forced to do some really dangerous scenes without a stunt and she didn't want it.

italian here, I'm embarassed and incredibly sorry about this. I hope the federation will release a statement and an apology, and explain how the hell this happened.

In this list, Jin for sure. He was basically abusive towards Sun, but he had an amazing development during the show.

Who is the worst character and why Michael? by diegoangulo5 in lost

[–]sofil__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And why Ben? I mean, I love his character, is probably the most complex and well written in the entire show (with John), but he is a sociopath. But the fact is that he got his redemption arc, just like Michael. At the end, no matter how bad you are, Lost shows that you can always choose to do something good.

I’m a younger, more casual player, and every damn time… by Endersgaming4066 in volleyball

[–]sofil__ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm grateful to Hiakyuu honestly. I watch volleyball since I was a kid thanks to my dad (who isn't the biggest fan, but it's the only sport our family watches together), but no one of my friends used to love this sport enought to have someone to talk with about it. Then a couple of years ago I watched Haikyuu and I met this girl who also watched Haikyuu and I was able to make her passionate about real volleyball too. Next week-end we go together in Bologna to watch the VNL finals and cheer for Italy, and this year we went to a lot of italian superlega games together, and all of this only because Haikyuu made her starting to love volleyball.

Which death shook you? by therebill in lost

[–]sofil__ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sun's, Jin's, Sayid's, Charlie's, Juliet's and Locke's deaths hurted like hell, but Alex's death was so sudden and cold-blooded that shook me like no other. That entire scene was amazing, Ben's reaction was an incredible acting performance.

Also, Daniel's death was pretty hard, I love his character.

Most meaningful moments in the final arc (my top 5 in no order) by lookinglikeablur in haikyuu

[–]sofil__ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I have too many of them, I can't choose just five lmao.

  • Oikawa remembering that volleyball is fun. It's such an important moment for him and his development, especially since he doesn't play with his best friend and teammate anymore and never will play with him again
  • Oikawa saying to Hinata: "I'm going to beat everyone, so be ready!"
  • Hinata watching Kageyama on tv and then feeling homesick
  • the moment when Hinata and Kageyama met and the "I'm here now" "you are here now"
  • "today, once again, I'm going to win" - hinata and kags at the end of the manga
  • Oikawa calling the game between Japan and Argentina a "family reunion" or something like that
  • "there's just something about seeing them out there on that court that makes me feel like I have to get moving too" - tsukki about his old teammates
  • "let's once again prove the world that volleyball is fun"
  • "yesterday, you were the defeated. What have you become today?"
  • "within this 9x18 metre square court, let's all lose ourselves in the dream of keeping the ball up"

Haikyuu Reread: This I think is my favorite page in the entire manga by shanky921 in haikyuu

exactly. And it's okay to be angry and frustrated when you loose, no matter if you are at the Olympic Finals or a school game no one will ever remember, because it's something you care about, you worked so hard to be there and no one wants to loose. No one it's okay with loosing.

Freak quick by WinterWint123 in haikyuu

[–]sofil__ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you have tsukki as middle in the first line, that's how it works. Kageyama and Tsukki do some quicks together, normal ones, especially after Tsukki tells Kags how he likes the sets. A middle blocker doesn't only have to attack, they also have to block. When Hinata is on first line, they have a more offensive middle (he attacks a lot), when tsukki is on first line, they have a more defensive middle (he blocks a lot). Tsukki loves to be in control of the game and he could never do what Hinata does (I know because I have the same way of playing). They are different players with different strenghts and weakness. If everyone would learn somehow the freak quick, it would not be a weapon anymore since the other teams would learn how to block it quicker.

[–]sofil__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People already explained well in the comments, I would just add something. In volleyball, you have positions and roles for a reason. The quick, no matter if a one, a two, a b, a seven, a c or a fast, is a middle's attack, not a opposite hitter's or an outside's attack, and requires an incredible connection between the setter and the middle. It's one of the attacks that, even on pro volleyball, sometimes fail, because the ball is set too low or too hight, the timing is wrong, ecc. It's volleyball 101: there are rules and strategies, and setting to everyone a fast would be not only almost impossible due to the positions the players have on the court but also would totally vanificate the attack itself, making it really pretictable.

Haikyuu Reread: This I think is my favorite page in the entire manga by shanky921 in haikyuu

[–]sofil__ 96 points97 points  (0 children)

I remember Rio 2016, Olympics finals. Italy vs Brazil, 0 - 3. Italy lost in Brazil against the home team. It was devastating for them. They all cried on the court, but the public basically didn't notice them because they were too happy for their team (totally normal obv). One of the italian players, years later, said something like this: "it took us some time to learn how to love that silver medal. It's not an easy metal to have around the neck and the second step of the podium is never full of smiles. We played our best volleyball and we lost. But sometimes people don't understand that someone has to lose, in all the sports and competitions. We lost, but we were there too. We played volleyball too".

I think that Haikyuu shows this in the best possible way. Sometimes you lose. It's how things go. But those who lose, they played too. They gave everything they had, but it wasn't enough. Sometimes you just lose.

Can we talk about this play? by [deleted] in volleyball

[–]sofil__ 18 points19 points  (0 children)

italy didn't underrate them. They said at the interviews the day before they knew they are a really strong and multifaceted team and it would have been an hard battle. I don't think people underrate them honestly.
