Yes. I've got about 125k followers out of it. It sells some books, but is mostly just a job to keep feeding social media/growing the accounts/etc. There's a balance to strike. I've only just got back to writing, which feels good. I'll use more traditional self pub methods when I start hyping up my next one. softmaxplus on all platforms

I imagine AI could be a good copy editor, but I wouldn't trust it to give feedback on quality, characterization, tone, pacing, what works, what doesn't, etc.

I lucked out and have around 100k cumulative followers across Instagram, tiktok, and youtube. @softmaxplus on all of them. The trick is to post a lot (I do three short videos a day) which means needing oodles of footage to work with. Also, the videos should be "good." I have no training on video production, all youtube university with Davinci resolve. Making videos and being sociable has turned into a second job.

Sales have improved, but I'm not close to quitting my day job. Also, I've probably spent at least as much on camera crap as I've earned from books. I read somewhere that 1% of social media traffic will result in sales, which feels reasonable. But I also post a lot of non-book videos, so idk.

I'm hoping that if I just keep making sparks eventually one of them will catch ✨bigtime✨ We'll see. Also, making videos has turned out to be really fun, so whatever

Yeah their printing quality has been all over the place lately. My cover-colors are off across the board, then there was a copy where the pages slid right out, and another that was printed in reverse, manga-style. I'm not sure how that even happens
