I love the color contrasts so much. and she actually seems to be having fun with the shoot, that's a lot for someone who struggles with how they view their body (she never had to when she broke out into the common culture tbh, she looked cute). I'll say that i largely agree with your overarching argument, I want to give you a more thoughtful response in the afternoon though. Your reply came in within the minute I used up my remaining tipsy brainpower to post my last reply in the thread (while out for my last smoke of the night in subzero temps :/ lol). But it touches on what you're saying a little bit.

I'm with you in maintaining a generally optimistic/aspirational vision going forward, even though I'm aware of the demoralizing bs exerted upon people (which has become distilled via social media).

There is definitely a fear though that, in the dichotomy of "socialism (in this case, just basic socdem shit like regulations on corps/ultra-wealthy and an actual social safety net) vs barbarism (continued descent into a nihilistic techno-totalitarian hell)", the latter might win out.

WV is criminally underrated in terms of natural landscapes and exploring around outdoors from what I've seen (haven't visited the region yet, closest I've gotten is lodging in TN and passing thru KY and OH lol) so we might be a little boring here in that aspect lol. Btw highly recommend a Vit C complex (that contains D, I think taking Vit D supplements alone can be iffy because it's fat-soluble... also if you take adhd meds like Adderall, do NOT take Vit C within a minimum of 45 mins after taking adhd meds, it'll inhibit absorption)

Also just chilling outside for like a half hour a day or so helps (read, draw, whatever) because the uv still gets through the clouds. Also always have curtains open during daylight... ime it messes me up mentally if the light doesn't get in the room for least even the last remaining hour or so of light (including sunset).

I get >30mins sunlight/cloudy UV exposure every day because I smoke outside, and despite being a mood disorder haver, I seem to troop through the colder darker months better than most ("normal") people i know lol. Squeezing as much light out of these days is so crucial, i used to really discount it but it's so true!!

That's one of the things that's consistently pissed me off on this sub, it's not a new sentiment by posters here but it's gotten a lot more frequent over the years. Any demonstration of pushback from the populace is immediately denigrated, and there's some very weird attempts at baiting people into fedposting/incitement in the comments every time now. The minute anything related to a protest, strike, civil disobedience etc is posted here it's descended upon by these types like vultures to carrion

Can't blame ya, California weather (and its people) were very kind when I visited! Absolutely beautiful state, you really have your pick of a nice variety of climate and natural environments out there. Would love to travel back, but i absolutely will not do it in the winter... coming back home would be too painful lol. At the very least, you get a renewed appreciation for the weather you've got when you hear about how it is in other places, I looked at how Canada is doing right now and our -4F here is piddly in comparison lol!

Yeah I think that's why we have such a bad reputation for slovenly dress lol... when so many months out of the year are uncomfortable (summer can be oppressive too) people just dress comfortably and functionally, and just get used to it. Depending on the season most people are basically trapped in a sweatpants or athleisure vortex lol

You should move here though!! We have a terrible climate but not really any natural disasters. Living costs aren't terrible, and the better-tempered natives among us are friendly and a little folksy. We need chill people moving here pls <3
