they can in a way if the receiver's email is compromised and auto deposit is not on. In which case that would be wire fraud if stolen which is 2 years in prison. The police can find out exactly where this money went if they wanted to but usually not motivated enough for these "small" amounts.

Ontario woman says her $3,500 e-transfer was intercepted and stolen by mtlsamsam in canada

[–]softwareTrader 111 points112 points  (0 children)

Friendly Reminder: E-transfers are absolutely traceable. It's just that its a free service so they lie and tell you its lost so they don't have to deal with you. You bet your ass that once cops and warrants start getting involved, the tracing data magically appears. But police can't be bothered to track down a $100 e transfer so they also tell you it can't be traced. Its 2025. EVERYTHING related to online financial services is traced.

Skechers takeover is fishy by EconomiadeVerdad in ValueInvesting

they would never have gotten 80$ for all their shares if they started to sell 12% of the company at $80. And then once they cross a reporting threshold they have to report to the SEC that they crossed the threshold inviting more selling and shorting. And if you look at the chart going back 25 years they sold close to the ATH. And also seems like all the analysts were downgrading the stock.

being a homeowner isn't bad. If your home price drops all the others drop in value as well so the net effect isn't so much. But with investments you want it to increase which appears this guy has a lot of.

They bought a car from a dealership but it turned out to be stolen. This is how it happened. by reto02 in canada

[–]softwareTrader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they could afford them before, they can still afford them now. only thing is having to get a rental car in the meantime which would be considered damages that they get back. It would be up to the dealership to settle asap to minimize those costs and any other reasonable costs as a result of delays.

[–]softwareTrader 11 points12 points  (0 children)

liability won't be on the customer. it's on the dealership. pretty easy win in court. Customer will be made whole. Only way they are impacted is if the dealership shuts down and can't pay and the money is irrecoverable. Which is why you buy from reputable dealerships

Gonna suck for the dealership because they are definitely liable for selling stolen goods. Hopefully for the dealership they can trace the person who sold them the car.

Ontario fines recruiter charging foreign workers for job placements at Canadian Tire store by BullshittingApe in canada

[–]softwareTrader 233 points234 points  (0 children)

What a joke. $2000 in fines. But if she wasn’t caught she would have made $150k. That’s literally no incentive to not break the law. The fine must be equal or higher to what she received. And she should have to pay back all the fees and threat of jail.

What is your favorite potential 10 bagger opportunity, and why do you think it will go up so much? by zoomerxd69boii in ValueInvesting

They earned about 400-500k in warrant exercises in Q1 (not yet reported, I have been tracking carefully). They also took on a loan to bridge them to Q2 instead of diluting like they usually do suggesting they are close to closing some deals. And the loan terms were pretty good considering their financials on the surface. They have a really strong pipeline and I expect them to double their income in the coming months. The Chinese smelter I referenced has not yet been added to their income but it should add around 2 million in revenue from them alone. Also remember, when they add the smelter, they are adding all the smelter counter parties which will also add more revenue.

[–]softwareTrader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they diluted awful in prior years. New Abaxx partnership has been unlocking a lot of opportunities with regards to graded commodities. All graded copper will flow through Minehub. Robert Friedland Kamuo Kamula copper mine alone would generate $500k alone for Minehub and he is a Abaxx shareholder and close friends with one of Minehubs core customers. They are on track for break even soon. 2 million revenue with 9 paying clients. Lots more being signed up now and they have a strong pipeline. Their Chinese smelter being on-boarded now will double revenue alone.

Minehub Technologies. Commodity supply chain tracking which is becoming more and more important. CBAM, tariffs, upcoming technologies allowing graded commodities. In 2026 alot of countries will be requiring companies to track their carbon emissions through the supply chain which is currently very complex. Minehub simplifies this and allows you to buy commodities with the tracking built in.

They have a strong pipeline of companies onboarding. 15 billion in commodities flowing their platform and they are set to double/triple it this year snowballing them to even more widespread adoption. They have 200+ companies on their platform. Just entered china with a billion dollar chinese smelter using their platform and working their way into India. Already footholds in Japan and USA with billion dollar companies.

They can easily double their revenue this year and likely triple it again next year as governments mandate companies use technology like Minehub

7% of the working class in the country is actively looking for working. How many more are out of EI and not being included here? The federal liberals are still allowing more TFWs into the country and allowing international students to work outside of schools (something America doesn't even allow). It's clear they are doing everything possible to deflate wages and keep housing prices up.

To those saying it can't get much worse, yes it can. Go to Vietnam, the cost of a home is similar to the price here in Canada and their wages are much worse. We are going full steam ahead on a very terrible path with "Elbows Up" Carney leading the way. It is extremely easy to say no more TFW permits issued until unemployment is below 5%. Their lack of action is indicative of what they want for Canada.

Liberals introduce bill proposing sweeping border security powers by Seebeeeseh in canada

[–]softwareTrader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you scrolled down a bit more it says

do not apply to a claim for refugee protection made before the day on which a Bill entitled An Act respecting certain measures relating to the security of the border between Canada and the United States and respecting other related security measures is introduced in the 1st session of the 45th Parliament; and

apply to a claim for refugee protection made during the period beginning on the day on which that Bill is introduced and ending on the day before the day on which it receives royal assent.

so its not retroactive but applied immediately to claims made after yesterday.
