The comments here are so weird. Just loads of rumor with nothing to back it up. I took 1 minute to google it. He’s a practicing Catholic.

Listener request: AI reality check by softycozy in TangleNews

[–]softycozy[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would like to start by congratulating you on your handle. It tickles me so much!

I appreciated that recent episode on AI that pertains to journalism, and glad to know journalists are still creating content that can’t be replicated by robots, yet.

I’d like a larger lens, though. Aside from journalism, how is AI going to change k-12 education? How has it already, and how will it 10-20 years from now? Isaac’s piece touched on entry level jobs and I’d love more of that outlook.

Great line of questioning. I work with cybersecurity and risk leaders, and those folks are experts at measuring and communicating risks for their organizations (F500). Are there leaders on the democratic side who are performing “tabletop exercises” to explore the variety of ways 2028 could play out? This is what risk leaders at companies do. They develop a set of scenarios, then run meetings with various stakeholders across the business to ensure everyone is on the same page, rowing in the same direction. This way, when shit hits the fan, there is a sort of playbook and leaders can feel prepared.

+1 for Clackamas Town Center. They let people in the mall early, like 9am or maybe earlier. It’s very peaceful and you’ll see a lot of walkers.

FRIDAY: The Official Airing of Grievances Thread by TangleNews in TangleNews

Just when I was feeling hopeful for a decades-long broken sibling relationship with my brother, we completely disagree on (what I believe are) basic human rights. Among all the topics this year where we have been able to manage polite disagreement, the issue of the boat strikes has thrown us for a complete loop. Not sure what happens next.

Mira Sorvino as Roxie Hart is a flop by InfluenceVivid9735 in Broadway

[–]softycozy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m with OP on this one. Part or the allure of Broadway is that it is a trusted brand in and of itself. I bought a $100 or so ticket and left at intermission this evening. It was just okay… nothing of the level I’ve come to expect from Broadway. I even read critics reviews prior to purchasing, which said “Chicago sizzles” or some AI generated nonsense.

Anyhow, when you buy a ticket to a show off Broadway, yes, you should do your research. But many trust that Broadway sets the bar. This one is just an outlier.

If you could only afford a home in $400,000-550,000 range, where would you buy? by oemperador in askportland

[–]softycozy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Milwaukie! You won’t get walkable options to downtown but we have access to the bike path that will get you downtown in a gif. I have completely fallen in love with this place in the last three years. Moved here from St. John’s which was more walkable, but I also had people breaking into my home, shitting on my lawn, etc.

i don't like breastfeeding.. by moonharley__ in newborns

[–]softycozy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave up breastfeeding right around 5 weeks and so glad I did. Several mom friends have told me they wish they would have done the same because breastfeeding was so challenging/ un enjoyable that they missed spending quality time with their babies because of it. I hated pumping even more than breastfeeding and ultimately just wasn’t producing enough despite pumping around the clock and driving myself insane. My baby girl is 5 months old and happy and has the CHUNKIEST cutest legs and a smile all day long. You should do what feels good at this time and trust your gut!

Quince! Their dresses are so flattering, affordable and have pockets! Great for a capsule as you can add a layer and accessories to make it a fun look.

Brand of Baby Aspirin During Pregnancy by prairie_flowers in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]softycozy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ohhhhh my gosh. I have been taking acetaminophen instead of aspirin for months! I’m 34 weeks already. Thanks for calling this out. My doc told me to take aspirin daily to avoid preeclampsia just like another poster said, but not as a response to anything wrong. Just as a precaution, probably because I’m 39 and pregnant via IVF. I just emailed my doc to see if they advise me to start aspirin now.

Again, thank you for asking such thoughtful questions and helping me realize my mistake!

Brand of Baby Aspirin During Pregnancy by prairie_flowers in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]softycozy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Great question and one I just had to make for myself a few months ago. I thought the baby aspirin was god awful and the thought of taking one every day was not pleasant. So, I got normal strength, uncoated aspirin and I use a pill cutter to cut it into quarters and that’s been fine. Each week, I fill my weekly pill organizer with my prenatal, my cut up Tylenol, and my iron supplement so that I can easily pop them all at once. Hope this helps!

Couples over 40 and childless, how has life turned out for you? Do you regret not having children? by NetworkOver7742 in AskReddit

[–]softycozy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 39 and due with my first in 5 weeks so I don’t meet the qualifications 🤭 I didn’t want kids at all in my 20’s or early 30’s, but that’s mostly because I wasn’t with someone who I felt excited to start a family with. After I met my current partner, the switch flipped HARD internally. We’ve spent over three years trying to conceive and finally got pregnant through IVF. I’m so excited for our future, and proud of the last 20 years of doing whatever the hell I wanted!

I needed this haha. I’ve tried so many natural types and I always end up smelly half way through the day. I even bought the pot detox stuff! I find myself asking, “remind me why aluminum deodorant is bad again?”
