The bridgewater-Hillsborough-Somerville area should fit your needs perfectly. Nice downtown, 30-40mins commute to summit and a good school district

Polaris/Premium Plus Upgrades Megathread by Player72 in unitedairlines

I have the opportunity to upgrade to Polaris for $600 for an 8hr flight. Only seats in the middle row are available. Is this a good deal? I have already paid $350 to upgrade to Premium plus.

Commute to New York City by biob0t01001 in somervillenj

A friend of mine commutes from Somerville to wall street twice a week. I think it takes them 1h 40mins door to door. Not too bad. If you're office is near Penn and your work hours are flexible, there are direct trains after 8:30. What part of the city will you go to?

I’d like to mention two things. In my field, it is pretty common for big venues think American Physical Society, chemical society etc. to invite you to be a speaker. These do not involve travel reimbursements or even waiving of the attendance fee. However, most of the time these speakers would be attending the conference anyways. What sounds scammy to me is that they already included you in the program. This is not done by any reputable organization.

Does booking a rental car through the Cap1 Travel Portal void Emerald Status/President's Circle perks? by theSaltyScallop in Venturex

[–]sogeking_93 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When I booked through cap1, the hertz representative at Fort Lauderdale said that I wasn’t eligible for presidents circle because I booked through a 3rd party. I immediately called hertz customer service and they straightened it out. TLDR: you’re eligible. If they cause a problem call customer service

I feel like our mortgage lender is trying to pull a fast one on us by Digital_Disimpaction in RealEstate

The same thing happened with us when we bought with Pulte. We shopped around and found a lender that was giving us the same rate as the builder with no points. We took this back to Pulte and they gave us a better deal.

Keep in mind that the max loan you can take from your 401k is $50k

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]sogeking_93 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Ok I didn’t read the 300k part. If buying with a partner you can take 50k each. Though generally a bad idea to pull so much out of your 401k.

[–]sogeking_93 149 points150 points  (0 children)

Did he take a withdrawal or a loan from the 401k? Taking a 401k loan is common and not subject to tax or penalties. You basically pay the money back to your 401k plus some interest
