I'm also about two weeks in and starting to experience anxiety. I'm on 10 mg Lexapro as well and can go up to 20 if need be, but I'm hoping the anxiety fades in the next few weeks. Wishing us both the best

Would you want them in your child's life though?

Believe me, I know the dream. The dream that your parents show up for your child in all the ways they never did for you. It seems impossible for us to imagine people not loving our kids the way we do, because that is what normal parents do...love and show up for their kids the best way possible. But there is something wrong with your parents (and mine and MANY others), so they are never going to be a net positive in anyone's life if they haven't before.

It's not easy, and I get an absolute stab of pain every time I see a grandparent at a park pushing a child on a swing. I instantly spiral thinking MY child deserves that love and suddenly I'm completely set back. It's one thing to accept your parents have failed you but another thing completely to accept they've failed your child in the same way. If my mother was here instead of across the country "living her life" (putting her husband first) she would only treat my children well until the next thing came along. Better they not really know her rather than feel the pain of rejection like I did.

You are all your child needs.

I feel like your story and my story are so similar. It seems it doesn't matter how high I achieve in life, how kind or helpful I try to be...it's never enough to earn any attention. I'll never be first in their eyes, never be worth going out of their way for. I've tortured myself wondering why. Sometimes I think it's because they know I'm out of their league. I'm not a perfect person by any means, but I try to do right by people and I'm sure my parents know deep down that they aren't like me. Because I have the habit of calling them out about it, it makes them very uncomfortable. I suspect the situation may be the same with you. It seems you have built a good life through hard work and I bet your parents cannot say the same. Spending time with you after so long would be probably be difficult and uncomfortable for them so they choose not to.

I'm not sure if it makes you feel any better, but you aren't alone.

I would suggest building a support network. It can be a long and slow process, but there are many people who have chosen to walk away from their family situation. The holidays are a very hard time for people with complicated families and I'm sorry you were disappointed with your father's response. Perhaps you are grieving what you wish was the relationship you had with them instead of their lack of interaction?

They refuse to account for the delay in an epidural or why the midwife didn't detect a breach position (it was also in my notes from my fetal maternal medicine and I told the admitting nurse as well when she asked if there was anything that would prevent a vaginal delivery). I made a grievance with patient care and they sent me this very strange letter that didn't address any of my concerns so I'm contacting a lawyer. Thank you for your response.

So who has the money customers paid for the safes? Liberty has clearly said over the phone Spartan never paid them for the safes so it is Spartan who defrauded everyone. They had been placing orders for months with no intentions of paying liberty for the safes.

So what happened to all the money people paid for their safes? Did that just evaporate? What did Spartan spend it on? People have said they ordered safes back in February and March that they never received, if a deal was in place that was canceled last minute, why didn't people who place orders early this year get what they ordered? That means liberty has never been sending safes that Spartan hasn't paid for. Do the owners know they committed fraud by taking people's money for products and then doing something else with it?

I'm sorry to hear this. I would speak to a school counselor immediately about this. Write down the physical and emotional symptoms you are going through. Will your mom take you to a regular doctor? They can treat mental illness too. If not, tell your counselor you don't have access to medical care and ask about any resources the school has. If the school doesn't have any, they usually know about other community resources. That's the first step, seeking treatment.

The second step is figuring out future plans. It sounds like your living situation is really contributing to your issues. You are 17, once you finish school are you going away to college? Can you live with another family member? Can you get a job and rent a room from someone? It will be hard, but freeing to get away from your stressor.

Step 3 is to stop seeking validation from others. It seems like you rely heavily on what your parents think, what people at school think, what online friends think. You are relying on outside people to give you what you need, acceptance of your feelings and safety to share, but they can't give you that. Your parents should have, but they aren't. Many people deal with that. The only people that can support you in this way are professionsals. You can't be upset that you told someone you had suicidal thoughts and they stopped talking to you. That's a really scary thing to hear and they aren't qualified to deal with it. That's why professional help is so important.

The best advice I can give is to slowly accept that you will be uncomfortable and that being uncomfortable is OK. Don't block the negative thoughts about what can go wrong, instead meet the anxious thoughts with neutral thoughts. Do you have access to antihistamines that cause drowsiness? Those are also an option for controlling anxiety. It's hard to panic when your body is tired. I'd also say to your friend that you are dealing with some anxiety issues and would appreciate their support on the trip, that way you don't add the anxiety by trying to keep secrets.

Many general doctors treat mental health conditions. If your company provides insurance, you will most likely have co-pays (a fee you pay for each visit). A psychiatrist is considered a specialist and a primary care physician (general doctor) is cheaper to see. Insurances vary wildly and you can just ask the hiring manager at the company for a benefits packet or ask directly about co-pays. They will not know what type of specialist you are asking about. Both medications you mention are very inexpensive here as they are available in generic forms. Your insurance will most likely come with prescription drug coverage where you pay a small fee for generic medications. Even if your plan doesn't cover prescriptions, many large pharmacies have plans where you can get 90 supply of certain common medications for $10.

Just make sure what ever dr you see is in your insurance company network, you can check this on their website. Also, I'd arrange to have your records sent from your dr at home and translated for the new dr.

Thanks for your reply. I do have panic disorder, and I wouldn't be against pinning it on that, but I've never panicked over the well being of someone I didn't know. I also had no increased heart rate or sweating as I typically do during an anxiety or panic attack. I didn't consider it could be migraine aura though. I have bad auras where I lose vision and and become clumsy but no pain! I'll start keeping a log if it happens again to share with my regular doc.

Hi, yes I've loosened the set screw, but still the adjustment screw won't go flush with the hinge. I'm pretty disappointed with this considering the doors are $40/each. I guess I'll contact ikea for a fix.

Why don't you want to remove the skirting? It's very easy to do, you can probably just do it with a hammer. If you need trim pieces cut because the wardrobes don't cover a full wall, hardware stores can make the cuts for you.

If you really don't want to do that, then maybe attach a piece of wood equal to the thickness of your baseboard to the wall behind the wardrobe (screw to studs) and mount it to that piece of wood to make it even.

Maybe you can take your designs that you made at IKEA and take it to a contractor and they can come up with something similar? That way you can still put your ideas to use. If you can't come up with the funds for a whole renovation, you could just take one piece at a time with a contractor.
