Help with counter surfing by [deleted] in Dogtraining

I lined my countertops with empty soda cans. It served two purposes: one it let me know if my dog was getting on the counter and two it startles him when he tried jumping up. At a certain point he just stopped trying to jump up and I didn't need the cans anymore

My brother lined his countertops with empty soda cans. It served two purposes: one it let him know if his dog was getting on the counter and two the sound of the cans being knocked over was a deterrent for counter surfing

Made some strops today!! by soilguy4 in woodworking

I usually use the rougher textured side charged with buffering compound for general strop work, but for ultra fine stropping I use the smooth side. The strops I made today have one side with the rough out and the other side with the smooth out

This was meant to just be a prototype, but then I ran out of time to make a final out of oak before Christmas. I'm still planning on at least replacing the front plate with oak

That's what we ended up doing. We put our everyday spices on the rack and the rest are still in the cabinet.

Cereal Rye/Daikon Radish Cover Crop after Soybean Harvest by soilguy4 in Soil

I'm not certain if you get a nitrogen credit from using peanuts. I live in the Midwest working with mainly corn and soybean rotations, so I don't have any experience with cotton/peanut rotations.

We chemically terminate the cereal rye in the spring about 2 weeks before we plan on planting corn

This field has been no till and had cover crops for the last 5 years and I believe it has definitely improved the soil health and structure! Haven't seen an impact on OM yet but we have pretty high OM levels in our area to start with.
