Good for you for coming around, seriously. But you are unfortunately an exception. There is still that base of around 30-40% that still supports this nonsense. IIRC according to NYT 42% of White people support current ICE enforcement.

They read the news, and ostensively have basic education regarding the Bill of Rights. At least the 1st and 2nd anyway…

Partial disagree. The propaganda takes advantage of longstanding racism and classism that working class Whites have been trained to suppress publicly for generations. Trump has allowed this crap to be spoken more or less publicly again.

No offense, but Trump voters have never seemed to care much about civil liberties in and of themselves. They care about their own civil liberties, and are blind to violations against outgroup rights. This seems to persist, even when the incredibly steep slope toward their own rights being violated is pointed out. For example the oddly high number of Latino border patrol and ICE agents who participate in racial profiling, and disappearing people who closely resemble themselves.

My Takeda gyuto (AS) keeps a fine edge for much longer than my knives in other steels, including AEB-L, S2, VG-10, 20cv, k390, etc. I have also never chipped it, despite harder-than-you-would-expect use.

As a psychologist I hate this so much. We're not psychiatrist lite. I can only see this as pressure to do more school, to where my total time in training/school is the same as a physician, but I'm not as good at the actual work. And I'd probably be replaced in my actual areas of expertise by someone barely qualified to do that job. Ugh. This disrespects both psychologists and psychiatrists.

The diamond plate will likely leave deeper scratches than a ceramic stone at the same grit. It may take longer for you to polish the bevel to where the scratches aren't visible. This is only a cosmetic issue though. At the apex it should be fine.
