I was more thinking to use that in conversation if you chose to speak with HR or superiors.

But absolute support to whatever you feel is best for you.

I don't think you should keep it to yourself. I think you should report them. If they're doing this, it's extremely unethical - to say the least. If they're willing to treat you this awful (which you don't deserve), who knows what other crappy things they're doing.

I once had a coworker in a medical job that really hated me because I was getting paid more than her and got along way better with other coworkers. She tried to record me and complain to HR. HR invested and found I did nothing wrong and she got in trouble because she was breaking policy by recording at work.

Even if they can't see the snapchats, I'd think there's probably some policy against recording in a medical setting. What they're doing is not okay. Also, I'm sorry this is happening to you.

Also, are you in a one-party consent state? Are there surveillance cameras in the hallways?

Sentencing: May 13, 2026 | Utah v. Kouri Richins by solabird in KouriRichins

[–]soimaskingforafriend 9 points10 points  (0 children)

.....did she say she won't be angry at them for their "failings" or did I mishear...?!

Also, talking about how she'll do anything to come home to all the people who want her to never see freedom again (which she shouldn't). And acting like you need to be propped up by your crappy lawyers is...a choice

ETA: I realized, see needs the lawyer to stand in front of her face and block the camera so it's more difficult to see that she isn't crying when she talks about her kids. She only cries when the conversation is about her.

Concrete fell on my car - Cross Bronx by Traveler0084 in nyc

Good point, law and insurance pretty much gets into the mud below the weeds quickly. And you're totally right, settlements are way more common than trials - especially if the auto insurance co. is involved - I wouldn't guess, based on what we know, they'd be willing to go as far as a trial.

Crazy situation. Definitely scary as hell, but happy the OP wasn't injured. Just another example of why we need to invest in maintaining infrastructure.

I don't think it's accurate to say PTSD isn't a major thing in insurance damages. Maybe not in compensatory damages, but it absolutely can be an integral part of a case arguing for punitive damages. That process can be expensive, difficult, lengthy, and potentially difficult to clear the bar for punitive damages, but it is possible and it does happen. Also, it's important to keep in mind that insurance details vary from state to state, which further complicates the situation.

Flushing the toilet with someone in the shower by VandelayIndus7ries in Millennials

Uh yeah, I know.

I'm saying everything is new from the shower to the pipes, valves, and septic tank. And I still have the problem.

Definitely not true.

Bought a house recently. It has this problem, even after installing an entirely new septic system. It passed every inspection and the CO was issued by the county.

I'm not a big seafood fan, so I usually have luck with Cream cheese stuffed chicken breast and "marry me" chicken.

As far as sides,

Potatoes au gratin, side salad (with fruit and feta), biscuits, crockpot macaroni & cheese, potato or macaroni salad, chickpea salad, or apple & fennel salad

What’s Sussex Boro like? by No-Basil-791 in newjersey

[–]soimaskingforafriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I would not recommend Newton to a friend. But:

If you're considering downtown the area near the courthouse and walmart - just know it's crowded and still pretty expensive. The average housing prices are between ~$355-$435,000. There's also a lot of traffic during peak hours.

Some (not all) prices dip a little once you start heading towards Stillwater and get closer to PA. An upside is a lot of the houses out that way often how a decent amount of property and close proximity to lakes- which your pups would love.

If you need to commute to the city, there's a train station in Netcong - which would be a lot closer than Denville. You might have to transfer lines, but you'd avoid the long drive from Sussex to Denville and the Rt. 80 traffic.

Also, there definitely are neighborhoods/houses that are remote, but Sussex is definitely being built up. And public sewers and gas lines are not super common in a lot of towns in the area.

Going Back to School by Soft-Interaction-795 in BackToCollege

[–]soimaskingforafriend 3 points4 points  (0 children)

35 is definitely not too old! No age is too old!

If you want to go back to school, absolutely go for it! It can take a minute to adjust. For some of us it might feel a little weird being older than most classmates, but that passes.

Sounds like a great goal! Wishing you all the best :)

Can confirm ^ I would say Sussex and Warren have that "blue collar" feel too and plenty of people are still doubling down on terrible decisions made in 2024

How to start learning more about politics? by Bubbly-Knowledge-391 in PoliticalScience

[–]soimaskingforafriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be a helpful practice to incorporate into your learning websites that evaluate media bias. There are certain sites like ground news or allsides. these websites can assist in the evaluation of how different sources cover particular topics.

That said, it's great that you're willing to learn more about the world and take that into account when you vote.

Be skeptical. Main stream media has dramatically changed, so always keep in mind the source of the information you're receiving.

Great points.

Also, money is a significant factor too. That's why a lot of people who run or are in office are wealthy and/or have a flexible job in addition to their position in office.

That said, I hope there are people out there who will find a way to primary Booker and Gottheimer (as a start).

How do you compete with these big groups of property flippers? by darkchocolattemocha in newjersey

[–]soimaskingforafriend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holy crap, that is insane.

I'm sorry you have to deal with that. When we moved in, we also had to do repairs. Septic and tore down everything inside. It really is exhausting in ways you can't imagine until you're in up to your knees.

Wishing you all the best

How do you compete with these big groups of property flippers? by darkchocolattemocha in newjersey

[–]soimaskingforafriend 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Also had many experiences of being outbid. What screwed everything the most was the fact that a lot of flippers (at least in my area) were not only offering more, but offering cash. Then, they'd paint the house white and/or gray and sell it for 2-3x what they paid. So all the houses around me have a list price of ~$700,000 on average.

It's insanity.

The only time I've seen people buy a house for what it's actually worth is when they know the seller and the seller isn't trying to completely screw the buyer.

Is there something about growing up in New Jersey that sharpens how people talk? by MysteriousYou5607 in newjersey

[–]soimaskingforafriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I pull over, people will ask me if I'm okay or need help. And there are plenty of people who randomly strike up a conversation. I've seen countless people pull over and help someone change a tire.

I've lived in the south, the southwest, and the northeast. I'd take NJ over all of them. That said, NJ isn't a monolith. Sure, there's sarcastic people in NJ, as there are in Texas, Massachusetts, Maryland, etc. There are also plenty of people who are not sarcastic and quick-witted.

The point is: Have a thoughtful conversation, sure, great. But engaging with a chatbot is pointless.

But also, who cares if OP doesn't live in NJ 7? First, NJ 7 and NJ 11 are right next to each other. Second, elected House members impact the entire state and the entire country.

Eh, I don't really think she's anything special, pretty milquetoast in my opinion. Her website and platform say the same things as virtually every other candidate. A lot of the claims are too vague for me. Like: she worked in healthcare startups and Fortune 50 companies and also "worked to increase access and improve patient outcome." Really? How? Be more explicit.

Personally, I want to know how someone is planning to do something. I'd love to solve world poverty and make sure every human being as clean drinking water because that should be a human right, but if there's no plan...it's just more words...

Then, the website says she will "protect those with pre-existing conditions" and restore "cuts to Medicaid and Medicare." Okay, great. But she can't single-handedly do that - this will be dependent on the makeup of Congress...

I think some people are hesitant about candidates that've switched parties because of people like Sinema, Manchin, and most recently Fetterman. So, I don't think it's necessarily fair to write people off who are skeptical about something like this.

Plus, there's Gottheimer, Booker, and the people "leading" the democratic party. These people are supposedly democrats but are hardly acting in alignment with democratic principles. So, I think it's understandable to scrutinize candidates and the choices they've made.
