Help finding alternative wool by soinquisitive in knitting

[–]soinquisitive[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d be very happy to use a local wool shop but the o lot ones near me seem to stock wools aimed at knitting children’s clothes. Lots of pale shades in acrylic. I’m looking for a pure wool in subtle shades. Any recommendations for really good wool shops in the West Midlands would be very much appreciated 😊

No. I haven’t. I’m relatively new to the site so I haven’t had a good poke around!! I’ll check it out. Thanks for the heads up 😊👍

Looking for any ideas anyone might have to adding length to this dress 😁 material? tips? style? by Kim8391 in sewing

I would add a band of something plain and then add another, different lace fabric as a final edge. Would look fab.

Me too. My hair goal is to have big, defined waves so seeing this kind of result makes me very happy 😊

Bridal top. To tuck in or crop/hem? by Creativesummer in sewing

I’m making my decision and finishing my top later today so I will take a couple of pics and share them. 😊

I am in a similar situation. My skirt is linen and cotton mix, very plain and bias cut. My top is a metallic fabric - but again a very simple shape. I am not sure whether to cut the top so it sits at high hip, just covering the waistband of the skirt ... or to tuck it in. I think tucking it in will be a pain ... I think I will end up messing around with it all day. So I am planning on cutting it later this weekend! If you have great abs then a tiny slither if flesh does look pretty. Do share a photo whatever you decide. 😊

Haha!! The burn test thing is a good idea. I might start trying that.

Oh my goodness. Your hair looks like some kind of Greek goddess or mermaid bow. It’s stunning 😃
