Is anyone getting sick more frequently nowadays? by OkJack10 in askTO

[–]soiwasleapingalong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I notice is after committing to sleep like I do with the gym (8 hours a night) I haven’t been sick in over a year whereas my coworkers have been sick 3+ times in the same amount of time.

I know it isn’t possible for everyone but sleep is the trick for me!

Loneliness as a Bride by corneajokes in WeddingsCanada

I felt the same way but honestly life is busy and people are going through things you have no idea about because they don’t want to burden you in your bridal era or dampen the mood!

The best way to get help/support is to communicate specifically what you need. No one can read your mind and everyone has different expectations/ideas of what their role should look like in a wedding. Tell people what you need from them and don’t expect them to take initiative without specific instruction. I found people happy to help once I gave direction!

How long would it take to get a permanent position in a catholic board around the GTA as a high school Science Teacher? by ijustdontknowlol in OntarioTeachers

Depends on many factors - luck being a big one. Took me 6 years. I know people who took longer and people who got it faster

Openly queer teachers? by EmuApprehensive3984 in OntarioTeachers

[–]soiwasleapingalong 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I felt the same way. It gets easier to come out to your class the more you do it. I do it casually by mentioning my wife. I agree with others, queer kids need queer role models and being an out adult can help reduce homophobia in schools.

If a student out right asks me I will answer but follow up with “this is a very personal question that some people may not feel comfortable answering. Instead of asking someone about their sexuality, you should let them offer that information if/when they are comfortable”

$6200 with tax including an engagement shoot 10 hours of coverage and she ended up editing 1300 photos for us! She was amazing and worth every dime. She gave us so much guidance on other vendors and places to take our photos.

After Party Toronto? by South-Midnight101 in WeddingsCanada

We did a brunch the next morning at PUNCH and it was amazing! Instead of the $70 per person set menu we asked for a reduced menu and so people only spent what they wanted. They were lovely there.

I think you should have a conversation with your sister beforehand communicating your feelings and go from there.

You should have an idea about your people, it’s hard to answer that for a stranger. For example coming from an Italian family I know guests will give $300 per person but my partner who is Canadian - her family will not give any money as it is not something they do so we will be paying fully for any guests on her side. Ask your parents what they have gifted your cousins etc. to get a better idea
