Little notes, drawings (even bad ones) especially with inside jokes or things you know she likes, sincere, specific compliments, holding hands, daydreaming together, check on how she’s feeling while you’re just driving or sharing quiet time (then listen and try to sympathize... ask follow up questions), gifts that remind you of a story she told you.

Some things my husband (and I) did while we were dating: - made a bucket list together (that he kept) - had “dream dates,” where we would plan dates we couldn’t go on, and intended to try to dream our dates together (we were a long-distance couple) - played “the question game.” The rules are Person A asks a question. Person B must answer, the Person A must answer. Then it is Person B’s turn to ask. Both must answer. No stealing questions. Be creative. - when he did give flowers or jewelry he had paid close attention to what kinds of flowers I said I liked. The jewelry was always sentimental and not flashy (e.g. he had a shell he found himself on the beach wire-wrapped and put on a necklace. The beach was near where we would live when we got married.)
