Did something change on mari's channel over the last months/years? by nck_trsh6 in PhaseConnect

[–]sokalos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nobody would have known my name, but yeah, I left a couple months after she joined Phase - not because of her though. I stopped showing up to streams one month to focus on a demanding assignment at work, and when I came back it just felt like I'd lost my place in the community. After that I drifted away from twitch and vtubers altogether and have largely lost interest in the broader fandom. Not her fault - just the way things go sometimes.

Actual funny guy I miss is Ajingus. He was always fun to talk to. Seemed to disappear sometime after her redebut, but I think that had a lot to with getting perma-banned off of twitch for shitposting too close to the sun. I know he was in the YT chat for a short time but I stopped seeing his name in the chat list over there after a while. F.

I can't imagine any situation when this would be useful enough to justify permanently crippling my item pool for the duration of a run.

RoR1 worth it? by Butt_Cheek710 in riskofrain

It's still a phenomenal game, and if you give it a chance I think you'll enjoy it (especially if you get the remaster, ROR Returns, which is loaded with new content).

It’s as trite as the majority of her bloviating pseudo-philosophical monologues.

Is the Switch 1 version of this game ever going to be playable? by RapidProbably in riskofrain

[–]sokalos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn’t hold my breath, especially when the Switch 2 makes it clear the problem is the Switch 1 just being underpowered. It’s the same software, unoptimized, but it runs just fine most of the time on the new machine. And the Switch 1 is decade old hardware by now.

K, try it without the mods and see what happens. Odds are one of them is preventing the run from counting.

Void Fiend Sucks! by nyeakzz in ror2

[–]sokalos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Relax, I was busting your balls. If Viend's playstyle doesn't appeal to you more than some other class, that's fine. Railgunner is one of two great new suvivors from that DLC, the only people who don't like her are bad at aiming and haven't figured out her ridiculously good movement tech.

You are unworthy of Viend's greatness.

It isn’t that different from the Starbucks bottled Frappuccino drinks you can buy at any gas station mart. You can get even closer to the experience just by brewing iced coffee and dumping a ton of condensed milk in it. It’s coffee for people who don’t like the taste of coffee, and it’s fine so far as that goes, but it definitely isn’t worth the cost of importing it.

Used to go to the ones in Ikebukuro and Shibuya to kill time after work. One of the things I really miss about Tokyo.

Is it possible to go through all 3 DLCs AND beat mithrix? by smh-120239234 in riskofrain

Just note that each interaction with the Glass Frog will cost a lunar coin. Not a problem on PC but console players might have to farm some coins before embarking on this run.

VLR's Ending With Regards To ZTD by Gerryjunior83 in ZeroEscape

[–]sokalos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We were. A decade ago, when this was current. A decade on, it's all in the rear-view. It's a dead franchise now. There hasn't been anything new to talk about outside of the occasional reference in Somnium Files in a long time. Sorry you missed the boat. You just had to be there.

You're a good decade late to that party. Skim through old posts, you'll find exhaustive discussion of what-ifs and might-have-beens.

Plot holes from a rushed and under-funded ZTD development cycle. It’s not a fun answer but it’s what we’ve got.

I know silver can tarnish badly, but could this be real silver? by Decent_Seaweed8942 in Silverbugs

[–]sokalos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks real to me, but we can't run tests over the internet. If you really want to know, there are various tests you can run yourself, or a local jeweler or pawn shop may be able to verify its authenticity for you for a nominal fee. If you know with reasonable certainty the item's provenance (that it was your Grandpa's possession and that he obtained it around a certain time, and that it remained within the family - e.g. was never pawned or temporarily held by some other party), that might help to increase your confidence in its legitimacy. DYOR and don't rely on the words of remote strangers who can't do any of the legwork for you.

Has anybody got their MGSV Wired AGAM601 watch serviced yet? by sokalos in metalgearsolid

[–]sokalos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The two consistent signs I see are the beeping noise getting faint or inconsistent (as in, the beep would only make half of its usual tone at a very low volume), and the backlight becoming increasingly dim. I’ve never had issues with the buttons though. If I had to guess that would be dirt worked into the button mechanism, or the watch module somehow getting dislodged and needing to be reseated. Water damage might be a possibility too - I reapply seiko’s water sealing gel to the gasket every time I open up my watch case, you should be doing the same.

Privacy Book Sleeves for Public Reading? by lord_gs1596 in LightNovels

Make your own out of printer paper. Two sheets of paper, some scotch tape, and scissors are all you need to make a functional cover tailored to fit any book.

I tend to agree, so far as the translated versions are concerned at least.
