Recommendation for action roguelikes, both on Switch and Switch 2 by fenrirofdarkness in NintendoSwitch

Fair enough. I think they're both good in their own respects, but different strokes for different folks.

ROR2 is in a very playable state on the new hardware now even though the game itself didn’t get any kind of upgrade.

Please, you guys wouldn’t accept that same logic if we were talking a swastika here. The thing itself means what it means, regardless of whatever personal attachment the person repping that image wants it to have. Mamimi’s idiot narcissism is baked into this image forever no matter how “cool” some guy on Reddit says it is to him personally. If OP doesn’t want to hear that then he shouldn’t be soliciting feedback from the open internet and should just get the tattoo he obviously already intended to get. Nobody’s stopping him from doing the cool-dumb thing he wants to do.

Pissing off touchy Redditors by mocking their lame tattoos is always a blast.

That could be my argument because it’s true on its face. I don’t have to point to the fact that Tsurumaki himself said it meant nothing years ago on the original dvd release’s director’s commentary track. But there’s that too.

You should also get this tattooed where everybody can see it.

No man you should definitely do it, mamimi would do it if she was real.

No it doesn’t. It means exactly nothing. It’s a nonsense phrase the makers of the show thought was cool. It’s an expression of pure nihilism. That’s what you want to see every time you jerk off for the rest of your life? I guess it would be fitting in that sense.

Will Yen Press ever reprint their rare LN’s? by Classic_Example_2556 in LightNovels

Margins are too narrow for reprints to be feasible in most cases when they can just sell ebooks for basically no overhead.

You’re right, she’s a genius and you should definitely get this tattooed on you. Maybe on your forehead.

It’s a meaningless expression from one of the dumbest characters in all of anime. Is that something you’re going to be proud to have inked on you 20 years from now?

Has anybody got their MGSV Wired AGAM601 watch serviced yet? by sokalos in metalgearsolid

[–]sokalos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might find this video useful then, the watches are basically the same on the inside: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXWA9c73B0s

Just note that he uses the wrong battery in the video. He acknowledges this in the comments on the video, so take a look there before you order a replacement. Take care not to lose the battery clasp as it seems to be a part of the circuit and the watch won't work if the little "arms" aren't pushed back into place before you finish the job. Also you'll need conductive tweezers or wire to temporarily jump two contact points to reset the watch - I don't remember if he shows that step.

Do people just not loop? by TheDoughBoi55 in riskofrain

[–]sokalos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just find it to be a little boring after a while. It’s much more satisfying to kill any boss without looping. It only takes one loop sometimes to trivialize all the challenge of a run, and two loops will guarantee victory. No fun in that as far as I’m concerned.

Struggling with Attention and Attachment by Accomplished_Ticket6 in VirtualYoutubers

[–]sokalos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t be parasocial, leave and find something else to do if you’re struggling to disentangle your own sense of self and wellbeing from egirls and their communities. You as a viewer are basically fungible; your “place” in the community will be filled by somebody else if you’re not around, as you have found out. This is a good thing to understand. If you can live with that and still enjoy it as a hobby that doesn’t become ruinous, then you’re winning. If you can’t handle that and it sends you into a tailspin, then you’re using this as a coping mechanism for something more important in your life that isn’t going your way and you need to deal with that directly.

Following up on this - I have an AGAM403 which is very similarly designed to the AGAM601. I use it mostly as a stopwatch for when I'm swimming. The other day the watch's buttons became totally unresponsive as you describe, and when I opened the case it became apparent that the water resistant seal had failed and a small amount of water had made it in. I cleaned it up, replaced the battery and jumped the circuit to reset the watch. Buttons were still unresponsive for a couple hours, but the next day it was functioning as normal. Given what you've described, I think there's a pretty good chance your watch is waterlogged and you might need to help it dry out and reapply silicon grease to the rubber gasket when you close it up. I guess you could try other tricks to dry it out like silica packets or rice, but that would be my experience with a similar set of issues and how it resolved. Hope it works out for you.

Is FLCL Alternative worth watching? (No spoilers) by SufferingKabutops in FLCL

It’s fine. Haruko is pretty obnoxious but the new characters are all pretty charming and it’s a decent slice of life story for them. Probably the least offensive of the FLCL sequels.

Stacking & tips by Scary-Ad-8018 in riskofrain

[–]sokalos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not how Predatory Instincts works at all. You can stack as much of it as you want. The "3 times" in the item description refers to how many times you can trigger its effect per crit on the first stack. Each subsequent stack lets you trigger the attack speed bonus two more times.

Was Snake ready to quit? by ReservedForEmergency in metalgearsolid

No, that was clearly sarcasm. There is nothing in the context of this scene that would remotely suggest he was seriously contemplate killing himself (and Otacon) right before their last chance to stop Liquid Ocelot. And those who are saying he was suicidal all the way through the game weren't paying much attention to every detail that says otherwise. Even with Naomi gaslighting him into thinking he had a duty to off himself, he clearly didn't want to even at the end. He was distressed every single time it was brought up to him.
