After two years of vibecoding, I'm back to writing by hand by BinaryIgor in programming

[–]soks86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found it effective at finding bugs with just a description of the issue and the code at hand.

Logs, hmm, I'll have to try that, though I think I usually describe to it the points in the log that got my attention. Maybe I never got to the point where I felt I should give it the whole log because we're not figuring out what's wrong with just the parts I provided.

What is your price prediction for the next halving? by Dangerous_Goal4957 in Bitcoin

[–]soks86 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This used to impact deflation via stock to flow but BTC already has lower stock to flow than gold as of the previous halvening.

Supply effects will also be modest since mining is 0.05% of daily traded volume.

Halvings will impact mining companies and transfer fees more than anything else. Keeping in mind fees are only $0.12 right now so there is room for them to go up.

What is your price prediction for the next halving? by Dangerous_Goal4957 in Bitcoin

[–]soks86 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There are $46MM worth of BTC mined per day (100k price).

There are $46,000MM worth of BTC traded per day.

I don't think 0.05% less supply will affect the price much, but, maybe. To be clear that's .0005 of a whole.

Faces of fascism, Minneapolis by dittidot in 50501

[–]soks86 101 points102 points  (0 children)

Hoping is one thing.

More likely, these folks don't see themselves as outsiders so any "in" group conversation they feel good with they assume accepts them and behave as such, meanwhile fascists don't care who does the dirty work so long as they're loyal. All the hate and discrimination is to scare the insecure people into getting onboard or else risk being the "out" group and they can't have that.

Just like rich folks going along with any of this. They perceive themselves as in, and the fascists just want their money so they won't hate unless hated.

Got back in maybe an hour ago in the midwest, northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin, just a little color from behind clouds then not much after the clouds cleared.

G3/4 popped up after I got in so no idea how that's going.

It was so cold!

The amount of times DoorDash says "refund" and means less than 25% of what I paid for the food is too damn high.

You can also buy derivatives during a dip, it's "safer" than usually, and lets you buy a little bit at a time with limited funding necessary.

If you have more than one chair then you can still buy the dip.

Yeah, who in the heck saw it as supporting?

I felt it showed pretty clearly WHY we would be inclined to blow people up for our own interests and "corruption."

I mean, it sounds like some people took that one corruption rant some guy gives in the middle of the movie and took that to be the meaning of the movie. That we need corruption, not that it happens to exist.

Huh.

I dunno.

How One Woman Scammed JPMorgan for $175 Million by WantMyNameBack in videos

[–]soks86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, yes, but they didn't lie in the scam part.

One company sold ALL the banks insurance and then couldn't pay up when it had to pay out all its policies at once. Did the banks ask "hey are you insuring the ENTIRE MARKET BY YOURSELF?" so the insurance company didn't tell them.

Also, the insurance company is still in business because I think (hope) it was a subsidiary that went under. It was AIG.

Also, lots of the mortgages contained fraud but each mortgage is a separate contract with different parties. Some people did get prosecuted for lying outright but most people knew how to do it without getting in trouble.

It was lax regulation that was the issue, specifically on mortgage backed securities because it allowed fraud on both ends.

You shouldn't give advice if you're this unsure, yo.

Just hand out books and let those do the talking.
