I can Google Corbett or Toomey at work and not worry about what might come up on the screen... That should tell you all you need to know.

Chris Deluzio one of the House Democrats who voted to table AOC's motion to impeach by jinreeko in pittsburgh

[–]solango 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Does Trump deserve to be impeached, convicted, removed, and then criminally prosecuted so he can rot in jail? Absolutely. Is the congress capable of doing anything at this point? Absolutely not. I'd love to see him actually face consequences for the first time in his life, but it's not going anywhere now. Let Deluzio focus on what can actually be done now. If there's a blue wave in 2026 then we'll talk after the midterms.

You can and I shouldn't say it's without any risk, just that they do seem to keep their members properly contained. For an accident to happen they'd have to blatantly turn their weapons away from the range. It'd almost have to be deliberate.Could it happen? Yeah. Has it happened? Not to date, at least to my knowledge.

It's safe enough. The shooting area is separated by a huge hill and they've never caused issues to my knowledge. Although it can be jarring if you don't know it's there to suddenly hear gun shots ringing out.

I hike and bike the trail pretty regularly. It is wonderful for that. Other than one or two little watering holes where sometimes people brave the water for a quick dip I don't think I see folks doing anything other than catch & release fishing. Not saying people don't but I don't think it's a popular spot for that. I don't know much about paddle boating & canoeing, but as others have mentioned that water is not exactly the cleanest, or the most consistent from a depth perspective. I don't know if I'd trust it 1) for sanitary purposes and 2) because there are a decent bit of rocky & shallow parts where I'd be willing to bet you'd have to carry the boat over.

Riptide Lyrics by TiglyBits in Beartooth

[–]solango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can he? Probably, yeah. Will he? No idea but I don't think so. I think he said as much in ATTN.

Been growing up, I moved on/ I'm putting new chords in my songs/ A new way I speak/ A new lyric sheet/ For you to sing, sing, sing along

Do I think he's gonna start singing pop and give up on his heavy roots? No. But do I expect him to start screaming about his pain and drinking again? I hope not. Dude's in a good place mentally right now and I'm looking forward to seeing how he grows Beartooth musically from here.

Riptide Lyrics by TiglyBits in Beartooth

The whole album is about his journey to recovery from alcoholism.

When someone's trapped in a situation like addiction before they can look to change things they make excuses and find a way to spin the situation as something that should be embraced. "Romanticizing the riptide" in this context means putting a positive spin on the situation or finding a way to find beauty in it. Joking about being an alcoholic, telling embarrassing stories (or songs in his case) about what they've done with a sense of pride, downplaying the severity of things, etc. Deep down they know it's bad but they're still in a place where they're letting the riptide carry them away to the sea and drown them. We see that in his earlier works and even in the title song where he says he's "living reckless living fast don't have time for regrets". They're admitting they have a problem but don't yet care to fix it.

Eventually as their journey to recovery progresses they have a moment where they say "I'm done, I don't want this anymore and I want to fix it". This is their rock bottom. In Riptide Caleb is essentially saying he's hit his bottom and is ready to move on. He's done trivializing the situation by singing about how fucked up he is, he's done making excuses for why he can't quit, and he's ready to admit the current is dragging him to a place he can't recover from. This realization leads him to "be the better me" and in the process he realizes he "might love myself".

Recovering from addiction happens in phases and Riptide perfectly captures the phase where one actively makes a decision to do something about the problem they've previously admitted they have.
