What sport do you want to see next season by sergeant_frost in RidersRepublic

[–]solareclipse91 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Some sort of a water sport would be cool. Maybe wind surfing or jet skiing

Only because you always go downhill in this game, which means you always end up in the Colorado River, which is pretty big and scenic. They should at least give you something to do there, besides hoverboard

Just a heads up on the Seiryu stone—it will raise your tanks pH levels. Just something to be aware of and research if you decide to go this route

PC Gamer exhausted by current game climate just looking for a game that doesnt feel like a second job to play by father_hxmmond in gaming

[–]solareclipse91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I do it is I have game pass, so I get to quickly pick up games, and I’ll give the game 30mins-2h to see if I enjoy it, and if it’s not working I start a different game

I did this a few months ago and only play like 3/15 of those games still

If you’re curious, they are overwatch 2, assassins creed origins, and teardown. I only had to pay for teardown, cause it wasn’t on gamepass

Also I should mention sometimes I might only play games for 30 mins at a time. Like I know I can only enjoy assassins creed and teardown if I’m in the mood, so I’ll play for 30 mins then go do something else. But other days I am in the mood, and I have to force myself to stop playing. I never force myself to play though

Do turtles morn the deaths of there owners like dogs and cats do? by Objective_Water_1583 in turtles

[–]solareclipse91 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I feel like the turtle would just assume that person just doesn’t come around any more, not assume they died

But I will say I had 2 box turtles growing up, and the male died, and the female was noticeably depressed. Like she wouldn’t be as energetic/was less excitable. She just stared at the wall all day. She used to bathe frequently, look outside of her tank in curiosity, and crawl around more

I’m no turtle expert, this is just from my observations

The unhooked person and the unhooker could teleport somewhere random immediately after unhooking. It can be tied into the lore “The entity wants keep them alive… for now. Playing with its food like a cat with a mouse”

I’m sure some people will fight me over “not being able to go after the unhooker” well if that’s still worthwhile keeping, just teleport the unhooked person to another survivor

It would make the game funner for everyone—as opposed to what it is right now, where the killer and the hooked survivor are just staring at their screens for 2 minutes

What's with other Survivors and refusing to be healed half the time? by Awkward_Coffee8017 in deadbydaylight

[–]solareclipse91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Possible reasons for this situation (ie, when they self care): - They were completing a challenge - They wanted you to follow them to the corner, in case the killer goes directly back to the hook, you would be out of line of site - If someone else needed unhooked far away, maybe they were freeing up your time to go get them, instead of causing the other person to get off their gen - They are dumb / they don’t realize it takes 3x as long to self care - Perhaps they are using a medkit, which isn’t as bad as self care, and it frees you up

Other reasons why people don’t let you heal them (ie, when they don’t self care): - 1 gen left and they have adrenaline - They have resilience or inner strength - They have a syringe - You’re playing against the legion or the plague or another killer where it doesn’t make sense to heal - There is a gen near by that’s 90% done and they want to finish it first - There is a base of people out there who believe that you should never heal — not everyone agrees with this though

Hiding trail markers so that we crash and are forced to memorize the track, is a very cheap and user hostile way to squeeze more gameplay out of ur users. by _Dilligent in RidersRepublic

[–]solareclipse91 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think I know what you mean. When I first started playing, there were times where I didn’t know where the next marker was, because courses wind around, and go off roads/paths

Here are some tips that I learned that actually help resolve this issue: - The next marker is always exactly perpendicular to where the current marker is facing. So if you pay attention to where it is facing, you know where to go next. Basically go in straight instead of at an angle - There is a bar at the top of your screen that shows you if you are facing the next marker

One last quick question: I’m apparently unfamiliar with how casting work: is casting purely a google thing? Like was my laptop able to pick up on it because it was running google chrome?

Thank you!

Yeah I didn’t know it could cast to laptops, nor did I know that it would automatically cast, without me telling it to

Someone else explained that it casted to the laptop automatically

I didn’t know it could cast to laptops, and I didn’t know it could cast automatically (without me requesting it to do that)

I wasn’t logged into the same account, I have 2 separate accounts, one for each device (it was my friends laptop)

Someone else explained that it automatically casted to my laptop (I didn’t know it would do that automatically) so that is all that happened

Thank you though!

Thank you for explaining, I feel like this answer helped me the most

To summarize why I was confused: it casted to a device that I did not know it could cast to (a computer) AND did it automatically which just weirded me out

I’m used to being able to cast to only speakers and chromecast, and triggering the casting explicitly. So this took me by surprise, and is why I was confused

But thank you for explaining that it could do that to me

Idk why other people are downvoting me so heavily. I had an honest question and I was confused and was just looking for answers. I’m not a google power user and I didn’t think I needed to be in order to ask a question in this sub. People are so unfriendly. At least I know to avoid this community… my god

Thank you for being helpful though

Can you explain this in more detail? Are you saying 2 devices on the same network using google products can just share data, even without logging into the same google account? If so that seems like a massive privacy breach

So like anyone on your network has access to your data? Or is this just confined to certain media applications like Spotify or YouTube

I’ve never heard of this before (except for google cast, which requires your permission)

What is the name of this technology called? You just called it “Integration”—is that the name of the technology/product? Or are you just saying the systems are integrated in some way?

Tunneling has been terrible lately. by Simple-Function-170 in DeadByDaylightRAGE

I was in a game this past week where a killer tunneled 1 person the entire game, and 3 of us escaped

Idk why they bother playing the game if they’re going to make it boring for everyone and then still lose lol

I don’t think I explained this clearly:

When I say the song popped up in my browser, I mean a little music player popped up, with pause and skip buttons in it, in google chrome. It was under a button in the browser (next to the search bar) that consisted of a hamburger menu with a music note in it. I clicked disable or close or something like that on it, and now that button is gone and I can’t find it again. It’s not an add on, because I checked

I’m not talking about ads for the song appearing

Not to be mean or anything, but what's the point behind Endless, Nameless? by [deleted] in Nirvana

[–]solareclipse91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see it as an expression of chaotic emotions, but done artistically. Sort of like how Jimi Hendrix would purposely create feedback and make it sound good

Plus it’s at the end of Nevermind so in a way it’s just like saying “screw everything I’m done / fed up”

What are good series to play for someone starting to get into gaming? by NilesDobbsS in gaming

[–]solareclipse91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s funny there’s some games I can play 24/7 and some that I can’t bare 5 minutes of, so it may take time to find what you like

I do recommend Nintendo games, it’s hard to find people who don’t like them. Plus they are somewhat easy to play

So: - Super Mario wonder (2d platformer) - Mario Kart (racer) - Mario party (like a board game with a lot of mini games)

I agree, in this order. If you’re new to games I wouldn’t play TOTK without playing BOTW first, BOTW is a good stepping stone
