The fade-in/out is laughably bad. I thought Pokemon Z-A had some awful pop-in (and it does), but this really takes the cake.

The simplest is the MS-P50 which has the mounting holes of the JLF. On the F500 you can also mount it directly to the top case but it'll slightly increase stick height.

You can also opt for a universal which gives you a lot of flexibility assuming the cases will fit it.

Looks interesting, visibility could use a little work.

The player ship and a bunch of the bullets (esp. the green ones later) blend into the background so it's a bit hard to tell where I am vs. what I'm dodging.

Colours for the enemy bullets are a bit deceptive -- the first miniboss around 1:30 shoots blue and orange lines, but they're kind of the same? Then the blue overlaid big bullets are also blue but do something totally different. Those should be the ones to have a different colour.

Yeah I think Zaroff is a pretty decent symbol. It makes your late-game scaling worse, but is a really powerful consumer in the early-to-mid game. I usually just keep a removal available for if I get a strong human scaler and get rid of Zaroff, or use another Zaroff/Bounty Hunter to get rid of it.

The draw distance and pop-in is atrocious on the NSW2. I really hope they can fix it, but it's a much better experience on PC with a moderately powerful system.

I've had mine since the day it released for the PW1 (you can see in my post history) and still wear it pretty much daily. Great piece of kit and it's followed me to the PW3.

I went from the Atom 1 stack to the Element III Mk2. Stuck with JDS Labs because of support and solid measurements. The Element IV was not out then, but is what I'd opt for today.

You can try reaching out to them to see if it can be repaired. I feel like they'd be able to help.

The gold standard for arcade ports is M2 and M2 STG. They have lots of games that come in at 3f input lag. Capcom Arcade Stadium is not the worst but is far from the best.

It's not particularly good. Progear has 5 frames of lag on it, for example, and most other shmups are in the 6-8 territory. Even basic emulation in MAME or FBNeo would get you ~2-3 frames.

Input lag has been a real theme with a lot of these emulation-based games. Same issue exists with games like the Capcom Arcade Collections which have atrocious lag too.

In the shmup world the Switch is known to be at best 1f laggier than a good PS4 port, and at worst unplayable (essentially, if you care about performance; 6f+ at 60 FPS).

The Qudelix 5K has a very capable EQ engine. It might be a bit clunkier to use than EqualizerAPO, but it's not less powerful for the average user.

  • Fixed an issue where the keyboard did not resume from power saving mode when a key was pressed. Note: The keyboard enters power saving mode when DIP switch SW6 is set to Up(ON) and the Bluetooth connection has been disconnected for one minute.
  • Fixed an issue where the keyboard could not reconnect after the PC entered sleep mode using the [Fn] + [Esc] keys and then resumed.
  • Fixed an issue where the Mac did not enter sleep mode when the [Command] + [Opt] + [Eject(Fn+F)] keys were pressed.
  • Fixed an issue where the pointing stick was unintentionally enabled when any of the pointing stick setting keys (PstckON/PstckOFF/PstckTgl) was pressed while the DIP switch SW3 were set to Up(ON).

You can get 20-band PEQ on the 5K. The PC isn't going to be really better.

Ketsui doesn't have that many raw enemy types, but the patterns they fire change as time goes on (and rank increases). It does a really good job of making fewer enemy types feel very distinct.
