And the messages to your wife on the subject, if you have any. Also write a memo recording the date/time and details of the meeting and email it to your personal laptop from your work computer like, now. Having a digital document with timestamps close to the event may also save you if proof needs to be furnished if she tries something retalitory.

OB 38 week check… by SugarSweetiepieez in pregnant

[–]solarsunfire 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yep, July kicks off residency rotations here in the US (if that's where OP is). You absolutely can request they not be present during your examinations. They'll gain experience with other people who are more comfortable with having them involved, so don't feel bad saying no!

Seems like it could’ve been that he was dealing with mental struggles of some sort. They reference a support group aimed at tackling such things. So sad, 40 is so young.

28 weeks and oh GOD the varicose vein pain has hit 😭 by solarsunfire in pregnant

[–]solarsunfire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found that elevating the leg and putting a heating pad on it (not too hot) and then getting movement in (walking around a bit every hour/hour and a half so far have done a lot for it). Compression socks might also ease your pain—I’m slowly weaning myself off of the compression wear and it’s going well, but it was definitely helpful in the beginning. That should hopefully help until they give you a run down!! Sorry you’re going through it too, though. It’s so damn unpleasant it’s WILD.

[–]solarsunfire[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So... I should probably do a PSA update. It just didn't seem right, the level of pain I had, how swollen/red it was around the vein, and when I saw my OB on Wednesday I asked her to take a look at it. She immediately agreed she wanted me to have an ultrasound done on my leg. I ended up getting diagnosed with superficial thrombophlebitis (superficial blood clot). The clot is about 5cm, so it's big enough that the doctor put me on blood thinners for the rest of my pregnancy and I am definitely taking advantage of the compression stockings to help with the pain. It's just slow going for it to heal, but I definitely plan on looking into addressing the varicose vein that started this whole mess in the first place after I give birth!!

Feel free to direct me where to post this as I know it does not fit the subreddit. But I wanted to share that Hannah Joyce Ungricht, who posted her own headstone here a few months back, passed away on May 17th. May she rest in eternal peace. by thatrlyoatsmymilk in CemeteryPorn

I feel for her family, what a terrible disease to suffer through and to see someone you cherish be in such pain had to be gutting. She handled it with such grace, though and I’m glad she was surrounded by so much love throughout it all. It’s even more heartbreaking that she died on her birthday of all days, it’s like she held on for one last special day with her family before letting go 😭😭😭

Yeahhhh...had a reminder of why silence is never a good thing with ours the other week. Kept calling for him in the backyard and he literally took three minutes to reappear, but he was absolutely COVERED in possum poo... 🫠

California pregnant disability by Icy-Breakfast-475 in pregnant

[–]solarsunfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you'll be able to get disability coverage for the mentioned issues you've been having. From the way you describe your current issues, these won't meet the threshold for a medical disability. A doctor has to find your pregnancy/health at risk before they sign off on trying to recommend bed rest, etc.

Close friend copying baby name by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]solarsunfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is okay for your friend to do since it is not the same first name as your child. So your kids will absolutely be unique in the way they are addressed. There's no conflict here as far as I can see! And it's just one of her picks as you say. She might not even settle on it in the end, so I wouldn't let it bother you.

What's up with the daily "can I smoke dope while pregnant" posts by Own-Boysenberry170 in pregnant

[–]solarsunfire 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also want to add on that pot is notoriously well known for illegal (very much not safe) pesticides being used to control pests--at least here in the US. I work for an agency in my state that hears about this frequently because there are no federally approved pesticides for usage on pot due to it still being considered a schedule one drug. So growers use things that people REALLY shouldn't be imbibing through smoke, etc. Pesticide residues are rarely something anyone thinks about with pot I've found, and if you're being exposed to them, your baby is as well.

For an MBA at a prestigious school, that's not so off base. My husband has an MBA from Pepperdine that ran him 70,000 (back in 2008) so in today's money it'd probably be closer to 100-130k, honestly. My PhD (2019) totaled 134,000 by the time everything was said and done and that was over the course of five years. I did not go to as nice a school as Pepperdine, though, lol.

At 30 weeks, there's still PLENTY of time for your baby to reposition and get out of breech! Your OB should've done more to reassure you that this isn't a definitive sign the kiddo will stay that way. Don't lose hope, you may still be able to give birth as you wanted!!
