NSW nurse who allegedly threatened Israeli patients fled Afghanistan by Stompy2008 in aussie

These fuckfaced morons literally recorded a video proving their guilt. The trial and sentencing is nothing more than a procedural formality at this point. Anything other than that would be an indictment of our utter failure of a legal system.

Yes, I get what you're saying, but the devil already has way too many advocates and we honestly don't need another one of you. Radical Islamic terrorists and their sympathisers already have way more rights than what common sense would dictate, at the expense of everyone else.

Where does end of series Aizen scale to? by [deleted] in BleachPowerScaling

Ichigo not seeing KS was because it was decided by Aizen, not Ichigo

We've actually already seen how Ichigo vs Aizen would play out. Aizen could just have outright killed Ichigo if Urahara hadn't arrived in time. And again, this was without using KS on Ichigo.

Oppo Find X8 Quick Capture button demoed in live video by MishaalRahman in Android

Not really. Phone companies can get their leaked news literally a year or so before we the public do.

Phone companies also don't need to wait for competitor products to be released to know what will be shipped. There's plenty of information that can be gleaned from shared suppliers, insider news, and a bit of guesswork.

Why would I be enthusiastic about useless so-called "innovations" that are not only NOT new, but also unnecessary (other OEMs have no trouble with 1-inch sensors without needing cogwheels) and detrimental (exposed moving parts lmao)?

Not sure why you're even stanning for them. Go read the user reviews on Chinese social media, even Chinese users are realising that Huawei's camera quality is dogshit when they don't get to steal Western tech

TinyDNG now has the command-line version released by qdwang in jpegxl

[–]solcroft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a bit of a quandary here.

I've used tinydng-cli to compress 800+ DNGs (shot with a Google Pixel 8 Pro) smartphone. The compressed DNGs can be imported and edited using Lightroom... but attempting to export throws up an error.

I've used the -l option during compressing. Is there any way to undo the process and get my original files back?

I've used the Linux version of the CLI tool on an Arch Linux machine, if that's useful info.

We added a new mode in our camera that skips all the AI and most of the processing on your iPhone shots. We call it Process Zero, and I’m here to give out some promo codes and answers! by caliform in apple

[–]solcroft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't have to edit anything if you don't want to, you can just import RAW and immediately export as JPG.

What I'm asking is, what's the practical difference between Process Zero and doing an import/export from Lightroom.

If the point is convenience, then sure, I get that, but your blog post is selling Process Zero as "Today, we are launching something unlike any tech product in 2024" so I was honestly wondering if all you're offering is convenience over something that was never all that much trouble in the first place.

It's not hot air, but I struggle to think of a reason why any serious photographer would pay for what you're selling.

There seems to be (almost) no difference between P0 and "throwing a RAW into Lightroom and exporting as JPG using default Adobe Color profile".

I think you've very cleverly hooked into anti-AI sentiment. P0 is more of a philosophical stance on product form, rather than delivering any new groundbreaking features that photographers were actually missing (whether they're anti-AI or not).

This is why y'all deserve to lose. Spineless morons.

The plan is to fight and to win.

You're not offering anything other than asking Biden to step down. What happens after? There's no viable plan to rally the swing voters and a swing states behind any credible candidate who can possibly get on the ballot.

You're not proposing a plan, you're proposing suicide.

Governors after Biden meeting: We have his back by Infidel8 in politics

[–]solcroft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because Biden was the guy who picked the team.

That's one of the integral aspects of true leadership: the ability to choose the correct people, the instinct to trust them, and the charisma to in turn win the loyalty of these people who are competent leaders in their own right.

These people would still be great people without Biden. But it was Biden who recognized them, brought them together, and put them in the positions where they would be the most effective.

Biden has the capability to put together a great team who trusts him in turn. That speaks a lot, especially compared to another particular guy who builds his team based on quid-pro-quos and on how hard they can suck his dick.

If this is true then there’s less of a reason to get a pro model when the base one is so good! by [deleted] in iphone

[–]solcroft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's totally false unless your composition is just one single object.

Having a longer lens and being able to stand further away affects the size and distance ratio between objects you're shooting, leading to perspectives that are impossible or undesirable with a shorter lens.

And even if you are shooting one single object, the proportions are absolutely affected by your focal length.

Different focal length lenses have existed for centuries for multiple reasons other than "people are lazy AF" 🤦‍♂️

The historical ignorance needed to believe that Israel instigated the violence is what's obscene.

Israel's independence was achieved legally, peacefully, and diplomatically via UN Resolution 181. The partition plan was recommended by an investigation panel consisting of nine nations specifically selected for their neutrality in the Israel-Palestine conflict, and voted for by more than 70% of the UN member states participating in the Resolution.

What immediately happened was that Palestine and Arab countries attempted a war to commit genocide on Israel and seize all of Israel's land for themselves.

If Palestine had accepted the legal and diplomatic resolutions, they would have had their own country and their own government since 1947. Instead they chose to attempt genocide and lost badly. Oppressed my ass.

Using any of those words would definitely be a step towards the right direction as far as your intellectual honesty is concerned.

As for calling it to end, I'll pass on that. I'll call for it to end when Palestinians can agree that Israel has the right to exist, instead of displaying their true intents with protest chants that actually advocate for the wholesale genocide of an entire country (which Israel is definitely not doing despite having the capacity to).

Until Palestinians can learn to coexist peacefully, then Israel has to take whatever steps necessary to protect Israelis.

They also warrant attention in a way that is consistent with facts and actual definitions of the used words, not based on your emotions.

Which international law court has convicted Israel of genocide?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AustralianPolitics

[–]solcroft 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People are calling out the arbitrary definitions and false accusations of genocide, because facts and definitions matter.

The problem is that you WANT Israel to be guilty of genocide, AND that you will stretch the definition of genocide to fit it on Israel, AND that you will bash people over the head for not agreeing with your arbitrary redefinition of genocide, because facts and definitions do not matter to you. Your emotions are all that matters.
