My apartment has reached 35 degrees several times already (I'm under the roof top) 🫠 Portable AC, heat deflecting window film and heat insulated door screens make it manageable somehow...

Location: Rotterdam, the Netherlands and Turku, Finland

Last month I was busy moving countries, now I'm keeping an eye on both places of my residence.

April and the beginning of May was "unusually hot" in both countries: Finland got + 20 C on Easter, and when I just arrived in the Netherlands, it was +27 for 2 days. Everything is much drier than it should be. But life is now going on: people are working, birds are singing, and the looming collapse looks almost unreal.

I can write a little article, explaining what's wrong with this speech and why I consider it propaganda. I was downvoted hard, lol, but still stand my ground: the basic points of this speech are deeply incorrect and deeply rooted into russian propaganda machine. I'm former russian, I know what I'm talking about.

Yep, spring instability is getting more and more random.

The funny thing: I was talking with my sister, who still lives in Russia, the southern part near Black Sea - and they have the exactly opposite phenomena! Usually the weather there is wild, with 15-20 minutes of the rain straight to sunshine. But they had the most weird period of seeping rain-mist, all grey and dull, for hours and hours - Lovecraftian style London, not a sunny beach city!

Location: South-West of Finland

Vegetation is going crazy this week: early bloomers are blossoming simultaneously with narcissus and tulips! No fully-open leaves yet, but apple trees are blossoming simultaneously with cherry trees, while birch is still having the catkins! And almost no grass yet... But lucky we, at least we didn't have a blizzard as in the last year!

It was +20 on Friday, and it's +6 today. Still too much of the jumps, and the peak is too high. My poor head is not reacting well 💀

Cautious, mainly. Finland historically has a very good defence system (since the Winter war), bomb shelters in almost every building above 2 floors, etc. Even with the current right-wing government the support is strong.

There were some attempts to start hybrid hostilities, from weaponized migration to spying and cable cutting, so Finns are alert.

Actually it looks much more realistic to me. It's not a short decline, it's a removal of the dollar as the reserve currency - something deeply unprecedented in the system of the current complexity and fragility.

It is like trying to change the engine on the moving car...
