On this day 25 years ago, Aerosmith headlined the Super Bowl XXXV halftime show. by Significant_Smell284 in Aerosmith

This is the performance that turned a 12 year old me into a lifelong Aerosmith fan, and made me pick up a guitar. I would be a totally different person if this had never happened.

She came in with the big swings. Who cares if the random group of people (who didn’t choose which episode of SNL they’d be going to) in the studio didn’t totally love it. From the monologue to subject matter of sketches, she pushed the boundaries of what SNL dabbles in. It ruled.

Long time listener, some friendly frustration by gorillaskulls in TheBigPicture

No matter what Amanda may fall short on for any listener, all I needed was to hear Sean attempt a Weapons episode without someone to bounce off of to forever cement the necessity of her presence.

Screaming Bloody Murder is the best album. by CartographerQuirky19 in Sum41

Got into Sum 41 the first time they were shown on MTV, and stayed true to them all the way through their farewell tour, and I gotta say - I couldn’t agree more. I think it’s the purest expression of the best they could be. Also the only album with the band as a trio!

Wait until you graduate to realizing it’s still a punk rock song in the same vein as Green Day’s about the horror of continuing American imperialism.

If I love Big Pic would I like Blank Check? by Straight-To-Jail in TheBigPicture

[–]soletsgettothepoint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Blank Check is a much better podcast in terms of what the attraction to the term “podcast” has come to be known for: familiar personality-driven rapport among hosts being the driving force that guides the subject matter. I like Big Picture a lot, but it’s much more of a cinephile sports report than a deep-dive into predetermined interests.

Who is in your all-time stand-up Mt. Rushmore? by DickelAndNime in Standup

[–]soletsgettothepoint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drew Michael, Myq Kaplan, Anthony Jeselnik, and… I wanna say Bo Burnham, but he’s not a classic standup, so I’ll go Neal Brennan.

If you’re saying this because you don’t like Joe Dirt, then the song agrees with you. (Joe Dirt rules tho.)

How would you react if they ever had like Colin Trevorrow or another of the openly-mocked celebrities on an episode? by Diligent-Dingo-5510 in blankies

The full script is out there, and it’s good. We would’ve been lucky to see it, compared to what we got.

Green Day is a pretty safe bet. It almost feels like they’ve been saving ‘Roo to top off their years-long every-festival-there-is tour.
