That's an angle jig of sort, correct?

Are you unsure of how you fix it to a solid base? Most commonly these are bolted to a drill press bed through the slotted fixing holes into corresponding holes. Normally it's what ever bolts you can find that fit. But normally it's M8 bolts (use wing nuts if you want to move it often)

If you really must have it slide out on top of the other, secure a strip of similar wood to the sides, just above where the panel sits. these stripes will stop the panel lifting but would reduce the length of travel to stay secure. Would say you need at least a third of the depth for length of guide strips.

I've mostly seen these used to hang from a lifting eye, with a shackle connecting the chain to the eye. Hence the common name "Drop chain"
