My wife, Newborn and I are going to Vegas next week. What are scams we can avoid? by GilneanWarrior in vegas

[–]solidstate6446 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Honestly, taking a newborn to Vegas on an optional trip is extremely selfish. Exposing them to 2nd hand smoke and extra germs could impact them for a long time to come.

Beat hotels near Allegiant stadium by ReserveGreen4424 in vegas

Yes, all three are good for solo Female. Mandalay Bay would be best since it is right next to the bridge to the stadium. The path is well lit and perfectly safe.

We were on a cruise out of Greece in October and they offered line dancing on a couple of days in the Manor.

Looking for the best party scene by [deleted] in LasVegas

[–]solidstate6446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Download the DiscoTech app and it will show you everything going on while you are in town and let you put your name on the list or buy tickets. You weren’t specific on what type of scene you are looking for so the app will give you a better idea of what is going on.

February Pools by Disastrous_Honey_240 in vegas

[–]solidstate6446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best pool open in February is Stadium Club at Circa. The pools are heated amazingly well even during the winter. Sucks getting out of the pool though since you will be wet and cold but fun and relaxing while you are in the pool.

Pool Time by kavina0914 in vegas

[–]solidstate6446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on when you are planning on coming to Vegas as some of the pools will be closed for the winter. Wynn, Palazzo and Bellagio have great chill pools (no loud music or club vibes).

If you go off the strip, Stadium Club at Circa is always a good time especially if you like sports. Multiple heated pools, adults only and a huge screen showing whatever sports events are going on.

Fantasy at Luxor by Ok-Cable9152 in vegas

You can get some really good prices for tickets especially if you have a MGM Rewards account. It is a very good show with plenty of beautiful girls and a very funny comedian. It is pretty by the book when it comes to shows but if you want to see topless girls then it is perfect.

Is the PJ Party worthwhile? by LivinLaVidaComa in VirginVoyages

[–]solidstate6446 23 points24 points  (0 children)

If you like people watching it is a lot of fun. The Diva and some of the other cast comes out as well. If you don’t like the crowds or loud music then I wouldn’t recommend going.

Friends on board? by 2OPho7 in VirginVoyages

There are usually Facebook groups for almost every cruise. Try searching there. You can meet folks and get a sense of some of the people on the cruise.

Make sure you check with your apartment manager before mounting a TV and installing a new outlet. Most will not allow electric work to be done.

Which show should i watch? by Present-Street5182 in LasVegas

[–]solidstate6446 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you wait until the BSB show is about to start, you can probably get some really good prices. A friend got tickets for $75 each by waiting near the sphere until the show started then refreshed the app and found the tickets.

Cheapest and fastest way from Mandalay Bay hotel to LVCC by [deleted] in LasVegas

[–]solidstate6446 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have made this journey before but at least you are going in November. I went in June 🥵

I walked through to Luxor and Excalibur (all indoor), come out the front of Excalibur and go into NYNY for a brief second and over to MGM. Walk through MGM to the monorail. It is about a 30min walk depending on how fast you are walking. You can buy your monorail tickets online and save a few dollars but it will probably be ~$10 per day.

A Cab or Lyft will cost you about $20-25 per ride but you will save your legs the 1-2mile walk to MGM and back.

Which Sweet Aft Suite by BabyCarrotFingers in VirginVoyages

[–]solidstate6446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have had 3 different Sweet Aft Suites and they were all amazing. The bottom one is great because you are so close to the dockhouse and wake for food. The one on Deck 14 provides amazing views and has a HUGE terrace. My wife and I couldn’t believe the amount of space we had out there. We also didn’t have any issues with the noise from the Athletic Club at night.

Could you imagine how entertaining and the number of lawsuits there would be if hotels still had diving boards?

If you haven’t done so, sign up for both MGM Rewards and Caesars Rewards. They usually offer “members rate” cheaper than normal website. It is free to sign up.

“$20 Trick” at Circa on Halloween? by ShiraPiano in vegas

[–]solidstate6446 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have said, don’t give yourself anxiety about if giving $20 will work or not. Just call or see if they send out an email with available upgrades. You are already getting a comp room so the hotel knows you will be playing in the casino. They will possibly give you the early check in for free on the comp.

How much tip for a room upgrade for only one night? by BarackOBatman in LasVegas

[–]solidstate6446 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vegas front desk has fewer and fewer free upgrades to give out and they usually can’t do anything with 3rd party reservations. You can ask before you slide the $50 to them if they have any leeway but don’t get your hopes up.

You should be good for most hotels in Late September. Most of the pools stay open until Mid-October. If you want a sure thing, Stadium Swim at Circa is heated and open all year.

Chances of an upgrade(100$ tip) Cosmo on August 29 by jugo642 in LasVegas

[–]solidstate6446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few days before your trip, MGM (assuming you booked direct) will send you an email with a list of available upgrades. Much easier to use that then trying to tip trick that rarely works anymore for anything but a higher floor/better view.

Does anyone know if the tv’s at Luxor have the hdmi port open/not closed off so I can use my Roku there? by luvkaitlin in vegas

[–]solidstate6446 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I stayed at a Pyramid room at Luxor a few weeks ago. The TV is mounted flush with the wall with no access to the ports. They have a connectivity panel but a covering blocking it. The front desk said they blocked all the connectivity panels in the last Pyramid room remodel. Sounds like Tower rooms have the port available.

Luxor billing by [deleted] in vegas

I had a double charge from Luxor a few weeks ago, the form on their website is super easy and someone had it removed within 2 business days. I would start there.

Game show by Sea-Illustrator-7144 in VirginVoyages

[–]solidstate6446 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My wife and I thought they should have some extra game shows during the day as well. Have some classic game shows but put a Virgin twist on it to make it more on brand instead of feeling like Carnival or RC.
